About Amerikanska Gymnasiet, Uppsala The school is centrally located in the Luthagen area. The school is now in its fifth academic year and has approximately 260 students studying in the Natural Sciences, Economics, or Social Sciences programs. Teaching is conducted in both English and Swedish by a competent teaching team with a strong sense of community. About the Role As a substitute teacher, you will teach our students when the regular teacher is not present. Lesson materials are typically prepared in advance by the responsible teacher. You are expected to lead lessons according to our pedagogical structure, which you will receive guidance on. You will teach in a digital environment with digital teaching materials in combination with traditional literature. Teaching occurs in both Swedish and English. This is an hourly position where you work as needed. There is a requirement for good availability and great flexibility, where we may call you for substitute work on short notice the same day. Start date as soon as possible. Employment extends until June 13, 2027. Your Profile We are primarily looking for someone with teaching certification and previous teaching experience. We are looking for someone who leads in line with our motto "Frames and Care", which means clear leadership and clear rules combined with strong care for each student. With your energy, attentiveness, and perseverance, you have a natural ability to engage and create participation toward commonly set goals. Teamwork and transparency are key principles. You are expected to have strong communication skills in both Swedish and English, in both speech and writing. You have the ability to use a wide range of digital teaching materials and you have stable digital competence. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
