Hultsbergsskolan | Karlstad Municipality Job Responsibilities Your main task is to create conditions for students' learning, development, and participation based on the curriculum as well as each student's individual needs, conditions, and goals. The position comprises 50% and involves close collaboration with other teachers. Together you plan, implement, and follow up on teaching to create cohesive and quality education for students. This is a fixed-term employment as a colleague is studying. Possibility of extension may occur. You contribute to creating structured, accessible, and developmental learning environments by choosing appropriate working methods, teaching tools, and adaptations based on students' needs. Qualifications We are looking for you who are a certified teacher. Given the development of qualification requirements in adapted primary education, we particularly welcome expertise in special education and special teaching qualifications with specialization in intellectual disability. It is meritorious if you have expertise in TAKK (Sign as Alternative and Supplementary Communication). You have a good understanding of students who need clear structure, predictability, and individual adaptations in their learning environment. In your leadership, you are confident, calm, and flexible, and you build relationships with students through presence, attentiveness, and respect. You see collaboration as a natural part of your assignment and want to work collegially to contribute to the school's shared development and quality. In daily work, this is evident by you planning instruction with clear goals and a well-considered structure, where content, pace, and working methods are adapted to students' needs and condition of the day. You use visual support, clear instructions, and recurring routines to create security and predictability. You meet students where they are, acknowledge small steps of progress, and adjust expectations without lowering ambitions for learning and development. You lead instruction with a low-affect and professional approach, are flexible when situations change, and can quickly adjust instruction when something is not working. You collaborate closely with colleagues, teaching assistants, and student support services, share your experiences, and take responsibility for shared solutions.
