Welcome to develop with us At Vega School & Activity Center, in addition to a municipal primary school grades F–9, there is also an adapted primary school program grades 1–9. The students in our adapted primary school are enrolled in the subject areas track and the classes are age-integrated. We have four classes, and in each class we have a mentor as well as student assistants. The facilities are fully adapted to our target group, with a separate entrance and a separate section of the schoolyard. In addition to classrooms, we have a motor skills room and separate group rooms connected to the classrooms, as well as a separate dining hall for students who need a quieter meal environment. Vega School is located in Haninge Municipality, close to Vega station (commuter train) and other transportation. Your assignment As a teacher for the afterschool program/afterschool educator in the adapted primary school, you are an important part of the students' school day and the link between school and the afterschool program. We would like you to take on the role of work team leader for the afterschool program and to have experience with similar leadership responsibilities from before. You are engaged with the student group and are creative in planning to reach the students. You collaborate easily with teachers and student assistants and have experience with parent contacts. The assignment also includes working in the classroom during school hours and supporting the class teacher in working with students on routine tasks throughout a school day, as well as planning activities for the afterschool program in the adapted primary school. Currently, 12 students are enrolled in the afterschool program. There is room for you to work with your colleagues and school leadership to put your mark on the afterschool program in the adapted primary school. Here is what we are looking for in you We are looking for someone who is trained as an afterschool educator or teacher for afterschool programs who has previously worked in the adapted primary school's afterschool program, with experience in a leadership position. You need to have understanding and knowledge of students in the subject areas track within adapted primary school and the needs these students may have. You are confident in yourself, have experience working with different personnel groups, experience with parent contacts, and have the student's best interests in focus. You are flexible and are accustomed to working with a low-affect approach. The focus is on the students' needs and well-being. You are also experienced working with visual supports and with TAKK. It is a merit if you have a training as a care assistant in your background.
