The Preschool and Primary School Department is one of Varberg Municipality's largest departments with nearly 2,200 employees. Within our areas of operation—preschool, primary school, and student and child health—we are here for children and students, together shaping the future. Vidhögeskolan is located in the middle of the community of Veddige, approximately 20 kilometers northeast of the central town of Varberg with good transportation connections to both Varberg and surrounding municipalities. The school is an F-9 school (ages 6-15) with approximately 530 students and 85 staff members. The school offers a varied outdoor environment and proximity to natural areas. At our school, we believe it is important to have a sense of safety and well-being for both students and staff, and students have access to student health personnel every day of the week. Development initiatives that have been prioritized and are ongoing at the school include health and well-being, as well as leadership and stimulation. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a Physical Education and Health teacher with us, you have the responsibility to provide students with the conditions to develop versatile movement skills and a good physical self-image. You will be part of a team where we together create the best possible learning experiences and ensure that instruction gives students the tools to understand health factors and how physical activity affects overall well-being. With us, you will have the opportunity to design instruction that encompasses both complex movement forms in different physical contexts and time spent in nature and outdoor environments during different seasons. Primary job responsibilities: - Plan, implement, and evaluate instruction in physical education and health. - Create conditions for all students to participate in games, sports, and other physical activities according to their own ability. - Create a safe and motivating learning environment that promotes students' physical, mental, and social health. - Deliver instruction in outdoor life and safety, including handling emergency situations in water and on ice. - Apply formative assessment and document students' knowledge development according to the curriculum criteria. - Actively contribute to the school's joint work on safety, values, and good relationships. QUALIFICATIONS To succeed in this role, you have a special ability to create engagement and motivate students to challenge their movement skills in different environments. You demonstrate sound judgment in your pedagogical leadership, which is crucial for ensuring a safe and secure learning environment, especially during outdoor or water activities. As part of the school's team, you collaborate professionally with colleagues to support students' overall development, and you adapt your work methods to meet the variation in students' motor and social abilities. We are looking for you who: • Are a certified teacher with a license in physical education and health. • Have good communication skills and can work professionally with students, colleagues, and guardians. • Have the ability to base your instruction on proven experience and scientific foundation. • Demonstrate skill in planning and systematically following up activities within given frameworks. • Have good assessment skills to follow up on students' development and provide constructive feedback. • Have clear planning skills to structure lessons and work areas.
