About the Position
We are now seeking a certified teacher for instruction at Grillska Gymnasiet. We see that you have teaching credentials in Social Studies combined with, for example, Swedish, Psychology, Philosophy, or Sociology.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young people and is driven to help them grow and develop. You will be part of a team of knowledgeable and engaged colleagues who collaborate to create a safe and developmental environment. There is great openness among teachers, and we share a common responsibility for all students to succeed.
Our schools work with learning and development within shared focus areas. These areas fall under three headings: pedagogy, health, and civic engagement. We develop what, according to science and proven experience, has a positive impact on the learning situation, on work for students' health, and for our students to be able to go out into the world with strong civic engagement.
All lessons are integrated and long, 120-180 minutes of instruction time. Lessons follow a structure with clear goals and objectives and vary in teaching methods.
Our schools work with a strong value foundation for societal improvement and equal worth. Therefore, it is important to us that you share our values.
Your work tasks include responsibilities connected to the teacher role such as instruction, planning, and assessment. In addition to subject-specific work tasks, you will also be a mentor for a class.
Qualifications
First and foremost, we are looking for someone who is experienced and certified as a secondary school teacher and is well familiar with curricula and governing documents for secondary school.
Beyond your subject expertise, we value your commitment, your pedagogical competence, and your ability to inspire and engage students. We value your ability to meet students based on their knowledge and needs, as well as your ability to build good relationships.
You are curious and actively work to help each student develop as far as possible based on their circumstances.
It is important to us that you are motivated to challenge yourself, your colleagues, and students to contribute to your own, the school's, and the students' development.

Stadsmissionens Skolstiftelse is an independent, non-profit school foundation that operates Grillska Gymnasiet. With seven secondary schools in the Mälardalen region and approximately 3,000 students, we equip young people with knowledge, security, care, and courage – for the future and for society.
Being independent means above all that we are not governed by any interests other than our vision - a school for a more humane society. The schools are independent schools operated as foundations, which means there is no owner extracting profit. Any surplus goes to the development of our operations.
Our schools work with learning and development within shared focus areas. These areas fall under three headings: pedagogy, health, and civic engagement. We develop what, according to science and proven experience, has a positive impact on the learning situation, on work for students' health, and for our students to be able to go out into the world with strong civic engagement.
The foundation's founder, Stockholm's City Mission, has driven education since 1857, and we share the same fundamental, humane view of humanity and values.
Through education, we can prevent exclusion and strengthen individuals' belief in themselves and their own ability, and work toward our vision of a school for a more humane society.
