Franska skolan is a Swedish non-profit independent school with roots dating back to 1862. We follow the Swedish curriculum, instruction is conducted in Swedish, and students study French from preschool onward. Prior knowledge of French is not required at the school but offers a wonderful opportunity if you thrive in an international environment. We are a school serving grades F-9 and upper secondary, with great opportunities in a pleasant international setting. We have approximately 950 students and the school is located in central Stockholm near S:t Johannes kyrka.
Job Responsibilities
We are looking for someone who wants to work closely with our students in grades 4–6 and contribute to their academic development, with a particular focus on Swedish. In this role, you will support students both in whole-class settings and in smaller groups. You will work closely with special education teachers and teaching staff, and support students in their learning—for example, with reading, writing, language comprehension, and other aspects of Swedish instruction. The work may involve supporting individual students, groups of students, and entire classes based on their different needs and circumstances. Although the position's main focus is Swedish, you may also assist students in other subjects during the school day as needed.
We are looking for someone who is engaged, flexible, and naturally builds safe and trusting relationships with students. You believe in every student's potential to develop and bring a positive and clear approach to your work. You need to collaborate well with teachers and other colleagues while also being confident working independently with smaller student groups.
This is a fixed-term position for the entire school year, with a start date to be agreed upon.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with strong commitment to student learning and development who enjoys working closely with students in both whole-class and small-group settings. You have solid knowledge of Swedish and a particular interest in supporting students with their reading, writing, and language development. We would appreciate if you are qualified to teach additional subjects beyond Swedish.
You are confident, clear, and attentive in your interactions with students and have an easy time building positive relationships. You are flexible, have good collaboration skills, and enjoy working with teaching staff and other colleagues to give students the best possible conditions to succeed.
