Stiglunds School is a workplace with approximately 600 students, of which 330 students are in middle school, and approximately 60 employees. It is a school for grades F-9 located in a beautiful outdoor environment approximately 3 km from Gävle center. Over the past year, we have received several new school buildings that have positively impacted the learning environment. We actively work with preventive and health-promoting activities to maintain a safe environment and good working conditions at our school. We create good conditions for this through engaged educators, active student health services, and present school leadership. We have good cooperation with families, which is important and a prerequisite for us to succeed in our mission. At Stigslunds School grades 7-9, we currently have special focus on mathematics where we have invested more resources in the subject. Stigslunds School 7-9 will also participate in a mathematics project that spans 3 years. The purpose of the project is to systematically develop mathematics teaching. We are now looking for a teacher in mathematics and science who wants to become an important part of our organization. JOB DUTIES As a teacher for grades 7-9, you will work with teaching, have class responsibility, and responsibility for mapping, planning, implementation, and evaluation of lessons. The work is performed according to established objectives and guidelines. The duties also include mentoring and working together with your colleagues to create a good, enjoyable, and varied school day with the students' best interests in focus. Your duties include: • Teaching in grades 7-9 in the subjects Math/Science • Planning, implementation, assessment, and evaluation of instruction • You challenge and support students so that they achieve good academic results and adapt your teaching based on all students' needs and prerequisites • Mentoring The work is performed in collaboration with other educators, student health services, guardians, and other actors outside the school. QUALIFICATIONS Formal competencies: • Teacher degree and teacher certification with authorization to teach in grades 7-9 in the subjects Science/Math • Familiarity with and knowledge of the primary school curriculum • Knowledge of and experience working with digital tools, for example documentation in Unikum or Office • Ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language, both spoken and written To succeed in the role, you have: • Ability to lead and motivate students and help them thrive and feel good • Strong ability to help students feel belonging and be included • Ability to create an open dialogue and adapt your language and actions based on the current situation • Ability to create trustful relationships • An unpretentious approach in your collaboration with colleagues • Ability to adapt your teaching based on students' individual prerequisites In accordance with Gävle Municipality's core values, you have good conduct, a good ability to collaborate, and value high quality in your work.
