We at Kumlaby Adapted Primary School are seeking a teacher of home and consumer studies starting spring term 2027! We are currently working on our prioritized development area, which is to develop the quality of instruction. We work in teams because we believe that everyone who works with us has something to contribute. Right now we are developing a new way of working where we work more based on each teacher's specific competence and take advantage of it by having instruction take place in a larger context. Examples of this could be thematic approaches where multiple subjects and student groups are combined. By working together, we can create the best conditions for our students. As a teacher, you contribute your specific knowledge and experience. In this way, we can utilize all employees' abilities and knowledge to create new opportunities for students to develop. 1 position(s). WORK DUTIES All our students have intellectual disabilities and we are therefore seeking you who want to teach this target group. You will teach students in both orientations of the adapted primary school, subjects and subject areas. To be able to offer students individual development, we work with continuous follow-up to be able to challenge each individual in the best way. This includes, among other things, that we conduct instruction based on both the primary school and adapted primary school curricula. We have the students' life perspectives in focus and our goal is to give our students useful experiences and insights. Communication, structure and clarity are important guiding principles in our operations. For you as a teacher to be able to carry out your assignment, it is important that you do not feel alone. We have therefore built up a student health service with enhanced expertise in the form of a speech-language pathologist. The student health service works closely with the operations where guidance and a promoting and preventive approach are prioritized. QUALIFICATIONS For this position, it is important that you as an applicant have an interest and commitment to the target group. We are seeking you who have a teaching qualification in home and consumer studies. We want you to have knowledge of what intellectual disability means. It is meritorious if you have previously worked in an adapted primary school, alternatively with students within the autism spectrum, and if you have knowledge of AAC (augmentative and alternative communication). Being positive, committed and flexible as well as having the ability to think innovatively are qualities that we highly value. You have good collaboration skills and a positive and professional attitude toward students, parents and colleagues. You should be curious about students' different ways of thinking, learning and understanding and view their individual needs as a challenge. The work requires good collaboration skills as you together in the daily work with students work extensively on planning activities and work together with students, which in turn places great demands on clear and attentive communication with each other. Great importance is placed on personal suitability. A criminal record excerpt will be requested. We warmly welcome your application! Employment form: Permanent employment.
