Jurslaskolan is a two-parallel school with classes from preschool through grade 6, and an F-6 after-school program. The school is located in a wonderful setting with a spacious, well-maintained schoolyard and proximity to nature. We maintain a site near Lillsjön that includes a wind shelter, gathering area, and fireplace where classes can prepare lunch together. The outdoor environment is an important component of our pedagogical activities. The school also has a school library. We employ a language development approach with a focus on making student learning visible, challenging students in instruction, increasing participation, and developing the ability to take responsibility. We use cooperative learning strategies to create collaborative forms that support learning. We actively work to include all students, and our safety team is an important part of our efforts to promote security and well-being. Jurslaskolan is also a practice school with many trained supervisors. Your responsibilities You will work with students in either grades F-3 or 4-6 and will be part of a team where you, together with the school's other after-school educators/teachers, are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the after-school program's activities. As an after-school teacher, you have primary responsibility for running the after-school program and developing its activities, which also include the school's recess activities. You collaborate within the team to develop the after-school program into an important and learning-focused part of students' entire school day and their progress toward learning goals. Your role also includes supporting students in their development and learning, drawing on your expertise as an after-school teacher, both during class time and in the after-school program. You take comprehensive responsibility for the program and students, with a clear focus on school improvement. Who are you? We are looking for someone who is a certified after-school teacher and wants to be part of our wonderful after-school program. You are a clear leader and find it easy to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents. You see school improvement as a natural part of your work. You have a desire to develop in your role and are well-versed in the school's policy documents. You have experience working as an after-school teacher and are accustomed to managing challenging groups. As a person, you work well with others, are creative and take initiative, and at the same time are well-organized. You are calm, stable, and have a flexible working style. You adapt easily to changed circumstances and take great responsibility for your duties. We want you to see possibilities in change and have a positive and accommodating approach. The work also requires pedagogical insight to meet students in need of special support, and well-developed knowledge of practices that promote student learning and development.
