Österbyskolan is a grades F–9 school with approximately 415 students and five work teams, where you will be part of the afterschool program team. Our school is centrally located in Österbybruk with proximity to sports and swimming facilities, nature and cultural-historical environments. The afterschool program has age-divided groups where the youngest students have their own sections, while students from grade 3 and up share a common section. Together with your colleagues, you create relational leadership where the quality of instruction is the focus. You plan, implement and follow up varied instruction that gives students the opportunity to develop both socially and academically, and that strengthens their creativity, curiosity and self-esteem through play, creative activities and movement. The work is based on governing documents and takes place together with the work team. Östhammars kommun works with the material "Lyckas tillsammans" (Succeeding Together), a systematic improvement process where planning, instruction, documentation, analysis and ongoing improvement are integral parts of the work. DUTIES • Plan, implement and follow up the afterschool program's instruction based on your pedagogical and didactic choices, adapted to students' needs. • Develop the program and pedagogical work together with colleagues. • Take responsibility for clear leadership that promotes students' learning, participation and influence. • Adapt instruction so that each student is challenged and supported, and meet each student in their learning progression. • Contribute to developing accessible learning environments. • Work deliberately to ensure students feel safe and enjoy the afterschool program. • Collaborate with colleagues to create continuity in students' learning throughout the school day. • Promote good communication between home and school. • Follow up, analyze and identify measures to improve the afterschool program's operations. QUALIFICATIONS As an afterschool program teacher, you are engaged and have a formative approach with the ability to create motivating and activating instruction. Your teaching is based on scientific evidence and proven experience with an exploratory approach. You enjoy collaborating with colleagues and actively contribute to developing the program by planning and following up instruction together. To succeed in this role, you have: • Teacher certification with qualification for teaching in an afterschool program. • A holistic view of learning and instruction, where you see the possibilities in supporting students' development throughout the school day. • Good assessment skills to be able to follow up students' development and provide constructive feedback. • Clear planning skills to structure lessons and work areas in an organized way. • Good didactic skills to translate the curriculum's purpose into practical activities. • Good collaboration skills and a relationship-building approach. As a person, you are pedagogical and have an understanding of people's different conditions for learning, development and acquiring knowledge. You are confident in your role and always put students at the center. You are well familiar with the school's and afterschool program's governing documents, work independently and at the same time want to work in a team. You see the possibilities in your instruction and are solution-focused.
