Do you want to inspire students toward creative joy and practical learning in a safe and naturally beautiful environment? Norrbergaskolan in Sturefors is now seeking an engaged woodworking and metalworking teacher for grades 4–6 who wants to become part of our strong collegial team during the 2026/2027 school year. Your Tasks As a teacher, your starting point is to work with planning, instruction, evaluation, and values-based work based on the curriculum. The work is done both independently and in collaboration with colleagues. As a teacher, you view the student's entire school day as important and therefore collaborate with both guardians and colleagues around each student. As part of this, the school and after-school program also cooperate to achieve higher learning goals and create the best conditions for each student. You start from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging instruction. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching. You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous moments. To support student learning, as well as your own and the organization's development, you draw on the experiences and knowledge of different professionals. Your Workplace Vist School and Norrbergaskolan together form the Vist School principal's area, and your placement will be at Norrbergaskolan. Both schools are located in the naturally beautiful Sturefors, just south of central Linköping. Vist School is a recently renovated grades F–6 school with approximately 340 students. Norrbergaskolan is a newly built school that will grow this fall to become a grades F–3 school with approximately 200 students. Here you will be part of a staff group with strong cohesion and will collaborate with colleagues across the entire principal's area. The school area employs approximately 70 staff members, including support functions such as school nurse, counselor, psychologist, special education coordinator, school librarian, administrator, and custodian. Staff is organized into four work teams where the school collaborates with after-school program staff for students' benefit. We have qualified and competent staff who continually work to develop the organization with a strong focus on collegial learning. The school area is in an exciting development phase with a strong focus on safety, academic focus, and accessible learning environments. About You First and foremost, we are looking for someone who has teaching certification with authorization to teach woodworking and metalworking in grades 4–6. Second, we are looking for someone with a completed teacher education degree in woodworking and metalworking for grades 4–6. Alternatively, you are near the end of your education to become a teacher in woodworking and metalworking for grades 4–6. It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-based school through internship or as an employee. It is a merit if you have taught grades 4–6 for at least one school year. It is also a merit if you have taught woodworking and metalworking and if you have experience in grading or documenting student learning during the school year. In your role as a woodworking and metalworking teacher in grades 4–6, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well-acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communication skills in speaking and writing in the Swedish language. This is because according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you shall organize and conduct the work so that students are supported in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way. As a teacher in grades 4–6, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your instruction to students and let them participate in shaping the instruction. In a quality-conscious way, you create good conditions for student development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that appear in your professional role.
