The Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic is part of the Business Area Specialized Medicine 1; the largest business area at Helsingborg Hospital, one of Skåne's acute care hospitals. The Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic currently operates with a catchment area covering large parts of Northwestern Skåne, with the mission to care for, investigate, and treat patients with type I diabetes, difficult-to-treat type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, thyroid diseases, and other endocrine diseases. The clinic also includes a multidisciplinary foot clinic and a clinic for pregnant diabetics. We maintain close collaboration with nearby hospitals within Region Skåne. DUTIES As a specialist physician with us, your position is primarily clinic-based, Monday to Friday office hours, with the possibility to participate in the medical clinic's on-call rotations as appropriate. In your role as Medical Director, you combine your duties as a specialist/senior physician with the responsibility to be the direct supervisor of the physicians in the section, drive development initiatives, and work closely with the unit manager of the section. You collaborate closely with the management group for the business area and represent the section in overarching forums. Together with the Vice Clinical Director, you have both strategic and operational responsibility. This includes responsibility for personnel, operations, and finances. You take initiative to lead changes to continuously develop and improve operations. In your leadership, you view staff as your greatest asset and can see operations from a holistic perspective where you plan, organize, and follow up on decisions and results. Your work as senior/specialist physician includes customary duties for outpatient endocrinology clinics as well as supervision of specialist trainee physicians. Together with other colleagues, you participate in development work in the section. In the role of medical unit director, you lead medical development and share responsibility with the unit manager for personnel, operations, and finances for the Diabetes/Endocrinology Section. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with medical licensure and authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. The position requires specialist competence in endocrinology. Swedish language proficiency equivalent to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale is required. Management/leadership experience is an advantage.
