The Legal Department is now seeking qualified attorneys for the section on national legal governance and legal support. Workplace Description As an attorney at the Police Authority's Legal Department, you'll participate in the Police's important societal mission across many exciting areas of operation. With us, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference! The Legal Department is responsible for legal governance, legal support, and legal development within the agency. The work is conducted at sections with national and regional mandates respectively. The attorneys we're seeking will be part of the Legal Department's national section, which is responsible for overall legal governance within the agency and legal support to the agency's leadership and national departments. The section also coordinates the agency's work with governing documents and has overall responsibility for the agency's data protection matters, court proceedings, and legal development through participation in the legislative process and contacts with the Government Offices in such matters. Through our work, we contribute to the Police Authority's ability to fulfill its mission in a legally secure manner. Job Description As a qualified attorney specializing in governance, you'll participate in the Police Authority's regulation, including working on developing and revising regulations. You'll also participate in work with internal governing documents based on the Legal Department's responsibility for the Police Authority's rules of procedure and other national governing documents. You'll play an important role in the agency's work with legislative matters. Work tasks might include, for example, developing submissions, responding to referrals, and conducting dialogue on issues concerning new or amended legislation. Your responsibilities also include supporting the agency's Legal Counsel in reviewing that decisions made by the National Police Commissioner are constitutional and do not conflict with the agency's governing documents. The current role involves close collaboration with relevant departments within the Police Authority and cooperation with other government agencies. The work may also include dialogue with the Government Offices. Qualifications This is an opportunity for you if you have: · A Bachelor of Laws or law degree · At least five years of experience with independent legal work in the recent past from a court, the Government Offices, another government agency, or similar experience that the employer considers relevant for the position · Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish orally and in writing · Swedish citizenship It is advantageous if you have: · Current experience working with regulations, legislation, or other governing documents · Current experience with business development · Completed judge training Personal Qualities To succeed in the role of attorney at the Police Authority, you need to be able to drive your work forward independently. The work tasks are often complex and require very good analytical ability and the ability to see your work in a larger context. It's important that you're unpretentious, clear in your message, and comfortable working in cross-functional teams alongside other competencies. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
