Together, the schools have approximately 270 students and a dedicated staff of 35 employees who work every day to create a safe, developing, and inspiring learning environment. For us, students' learning and well-being are at the center, and we value close collaboration between students, guardians, and staff. Through shared commitment and a professional approach, we work to give each student the best conditions to develop based on their own circumstances and reach their full potential. Job responsibilities As a school counselor, you work to support students in their school social situations and help create conditions for safety, health, and learning. Through conversations, advice, and guidance, you help students manage challenges that may affect their schooling and well-being. The role also includes providing support and guidance to school staff on matters concerning students' social and psychosocial situations. You work both preventatively and health-promotingly at the individual, group, and organizational levels, and actively contribute to developing the school's work for a safe and inclusive learning environment. As a school counselor, you are part of the school's student health team, where you work together with other professionals to promote students' health, development, and goal achievement. The student health team works closely with the school's educators and other staff, as well as with external actors such as social services, rehabilitation services, and child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP). You are also part of the children and youth department's central school counselor group. The group meets regularly for experience sharing, collegial support, joint supervision, and professional development, which provides excellent opportunities for both professional development and networking. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is trained as a social worker and who wants to contribute to creating good conditions for children's and students' development, health, and learning. You are self-directed and responsible, with the ability to work both independently and in close collaboration with other professionals. You have a solution-oriented approach, see opportunities in challenges, and contribute with engagement and initiative in your work. As a person, you are confident, flexible, and professional in your interactions. You find it easy to create trustful relationships and collaborate well with students, guardians, colleagues, and external actors. You also have a good ability to adapt to changed circumstances and to handle complex situations in a structured way. We place great importance on personal suitability. Meritorious qualifications Experience working as a school counselor. Knowledge of and experience working with children and students in need of special support.
