CULTURAL WORK SPECIALIST position
(fixed-term)
We are looking for a cultural work specialist – a motivated, creative person with excellent communication skills who is ready to apply their knowledge, develop skills, and gain invaluable experience in our team. The position is offered on a summated work time basis.
Your daily responsibilities:
plan, organize, and coordinate cultural activities at Alūksnes Cultural Centre and throughout Alūksnes city territory, taking into account local community interests and needs;
create a diverse range of cultural, traditional, national holiday, and lifelong learning events;
organize concerts, competitions, exhibitions, festivals, and other cultural and public events;
support amateur groups' activities and organize their participation in the region's cultural life;
promote public involvement in preserving and developing Song and Dance Festival traditions;
facilitate residents' creative initiatives, participation, and meaningful leisure activities;
build cooperation with non-governmental organizations, group leaders, and other cultural sector partners;
plan resources needed for event implementation and monitor budget execution;
prepare event plans, reports, and statistical information;
cooperate with public relations specialists, providing information about events and other current topics;
ensure the cultural centre's visibility and its activities recognition through social media and other communication channels;
organize cultural centre space rentals and manage associated documentation;
represent the institution and its interests, maintaining professional and respectful communication with residents, partners, and municipal institutions.
Required skills and knowledge:
higher education or ongoing studies in cultural field or other fields that provide necessary skills for position duties;
experience in organizing cultural activities;
good computer skills and office equipment proficiency;
ability to use social media and digital communication opportunities;
understanding of cultural sector current issues and cultural work organization;
ability to navigate cultural sector-related regulations;
excellent Latvian language skills and good language sense;
ability to prepare written information clearly and professionally;
good communication skills and public speaking ability;
ability to independently plan work, set priorities, and make decisions;
ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Salary for the position: €1117.00 per month before tax deductions (during probation period 90% of the fixed monthly salary).
