Contract Consultant / Contract Engineer – Road 44 Lidköping Bypass
About the Company
Trafikverket is responsible for long-term planning, construction, operation, and maintenance of Sweden's state road and railway network. The Road 44 Lidköping Bypass project aims to relieve through traffic in Lidköping, improve traffic safety, and reduce noise and environmental impact on the town.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced contract consultant/contract engineer for the Road 44 Lidköping Bypass project, phase 2. The assignment includes construction site safety coordination in the BAS-P role, monitoring production matters during the road planning and design phase, and project management during the implementation phase.
The project encompasses approximately 6 km of new road with 2+1 lanes, four new bridges, and connections to the existing road network. The role involves close collaboration with Trafikverket's project organization and engaged design consultants.
Role and Responsibilities
- Coordinate construction site safety and production matters in the project.
- Establish routines for occupational health and safety work.
- Coordinate scheduling for safe work methods.
- Prepare Occupational Health and Safety Plan (AMP).
- Conduct advance notifications and document risk assessments.
- Identify, analyze, and manage occupational health and safety risks.
- Ensure safe work methods during design and production.
- Review designers' documentation, drawings, and calculations.
- Monitor contractors' compliance with occupational health and safety and contract requirements.
- Oversee planning, coordination, and follow-up of contract work.
- Perform cost tracking, cost management, and final cost forecasts.
- Conduct spot checks on quality, environment, occupational health and safety, and traffic safety.
- Review schedules and estimates over time.
- Participate in evaluation of technical solutions.
- Attend information and consultation meetings.
- Maintain meeting records and notes.
- Prepare documentation for notifications and change order work.
- Perform price and quantity checks.
- Participate in contract inspections.
- Oversee preparation of final documentation for handover to operations.
Required Competencies
1. At least 5 years of experience in road construction projects as a project manager, construction manager, contract manager, or site manager, where at least one assignment lasted a minimum of one year with a project budget of at least 200 MNOK.
2. Experience with estimation work and quantity management in construction contracts.
3. Experience with construction of concrete road bridges in the role of project manager, contract manager, or site manager.
4. Experience in railway projects.
5. Experience in the BAS-P role from at least one road construction project of similar size and complexity.
6. Experience with occupational health and safety risk work of comparable complexity.
7. Engineer degree or equivalent.
8. Training of at least 48 hours according to the Swedish Work Environment Authority's recommendations (AFS 2023:3) focused on road construction projects.
9. Work on roads, minimum level 3 (direct and manage).
10. Valid B driver's license.
11. Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.
12. Good knowledge of ABK 09, AB 04, and ABT 06.
13. Good knowledge of Trafikverket's regulations, handbooks, and standards as well as the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations.
14. Good communication skills in speech and writing.
15. Good negotiation experience.

1. Documented strong collaboration skills and personal qualities relevant to the BAS-P and project manager role.
2. Excellent technical understanding and knowledge within road construction projects.
3. Excellent expertise in construction law related to road construction projects.
Assignment Information
Assignment Period: From contract commencement until 2031-12-31, with an option for 1-year extension.
Scope: Approximately 50% during planning and design phase and approximately 80% during construction production phase.
Location: Skövde during planning and design phase, Lidköping during construction production phase.
