Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for equitable welfare and for ensuring that research and innovation deliver results. Centrum för opererande verksamheter (COV) in Skellefteå brings together several operations with a shared focus on surgical and treatment care. The center encompasses surgical, urological and orthopedic care, along with anesthesia, operating room, and intensive care operations, as well as postoperative care. We conduct both acute and planned operations. By bringing together several operations in a shared organization, we create conditions for strengthened local collaboration in Skellefteå. The Surgical Clinic is part of COV and constitutes a specialized and multifaceted operation with a broad mandate in both planned and follow-up care. The clinic encompasses surgery, urology and endoscopic operations, as well as a chemotherapy unit for treating cancer patients. With approximately 6,000 patient visits annually, the Surgical Clinic is the largest surgical clinic in the region and plays a central role in the surgical care chain. The operation is characterized by high medical expertise and a clear focus on quality and patient safety. Within the Surgical Clinic, there is also an administrative unit with medical secretaries, which provides central support in the operation and has an important coordinating function in patient flows. Work at the clinic is characterized by close interprofessional collaboration, where doctors, nurses, contact nurses, nursing assistants and medical secretaries work together with the patient in focus. The urology section accounts for just over 30% of the Surgical Clinic's total operations in Skellefteå. With this, we are a large and important part of care and contribute to both reduced complaints, longer survival and improved quality of life for our patients. We investigate, treat and operate on both benign and malignant conditions of the urinary tract. The urology team consists of urologists and resident doctors, contact nurses, medical secretaries and a urology therapist as well as a nursing assistant with their own clinic. We are looking for someone who wants to work daytime hours and make a difference for our cancer patients in urology as one of our contact nurses is starting a new job. We offer pleasant work colleagues, wellness benefits, flexible hours and continuous development in your professional role. 1 position(s).
