Job Responsibilities
The contact nurse's mission is to work to increase safety and quality of care for patients. The contact nurse has overall responsibility for the patient and next of kin throughout the entire care pathway. The role includes special availability, informing about upcoming treatment steps, providing support during normal crisis reactions, and facilitating contact with other professional groups. As a contact nurse for breast cancer, you will have your own clinic with follow-up appointments.
The work also includes telephone advice, calling patients, clinic visits, participation in team rounds, etc.
Qualifications
Licensed nurse. Experience and/or training in oncology is a merit.
Strong empathetic ability, flexibility, and ability to work independently are qualities we value. Great emphasis will be placed on personal characteristics.

About the Organization
The Oncology operational area is county-wide with operations at Universitetssjukhuset i Örebro. Here we care for patients with tumor diseases and offer them adjuvant, curative, and palliative treatments. Care in the operational area is based on a holistic view of our patients, which means considering physical, psychological, social, and existential aspects. The Oncology operational area consists of a clinic, surgical and brachytherapy unit, inpatient ward, medical treatment unit, radiation therapy department, and a paramedical unit. We investigate, treat, and follow up patients with various cancer diagnoses.
