We are seeking a communications officer for a temporary position focused on emergency preparedness and crisis communication. You will work together with the unit manager and lead strategic work while being responsible for emergency preparedness and crisis communication. The position is based in Gävle or Hudiksvall. We welcome your application! 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a communications officer, you will work both preventively and operatively with emergency preparedness and crisis communication. Your task is primarily to produce materials and develop practical resources that strengthen Region Gävleborg's preparedness. You will be part of a work team and participate in the development group for crisis communication as well as the department's digital channels group. As a communications officer with us, you will, among other things • develop and update procedures, checklists, templates, and other resources • produce communication materials for different target audiences and publish information on Region Gävleborg's websites and social media • plan, implement, and evaluate communication initiatives • write and edit messages, questions and answers, and other communication materials • prepare materials for trainings and exercises • participate in exercises and document experiences and improvement needs • support managers, operations, and communication colleagues with practical communication initiatives. You need to be able to work independently with clearly defined tasks and translate direction and decisions into practical communication. To succeed in this role, you also need to be organized, thorough, and good at completing tasks. You take initiative within the scope of your assignment and ask for guidance when needed. You have strong collaboration skills and find it easy to connect with others. In your role as a communications officer, you should have • education in communications, journalism, or other education that the employer considers equivalent • current experience working as a communications officer or with similar communication tasks • experience writing and adapting texts for different target audiences and channels • very strong ability to express yourself in Swedish both orally and in writing • experience working with digital publishing tools, preferably Optimizely and Retriever. For this position, it is advantageous if you have • knowledge of emergency preparedness or crisis communication • experience with communication work during a societal disruption, special incident, or crisis • experience developing procedures, checklists, templates, or other practical resources • experience planning or participating in trainings and exercises • experience working in public or socially important operations • knowledge of information influence, disinformation, and psychological defense • experience collaborating between multiple operations or organizations. Employment type: Fixed-term contract. Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: 2026-11-01 or by agreement Fixed-term contract until 2027-12-31.
