About the Operations We offer varied work in a creative environment. You will work in Borås City's central communications department at the City Executive Office, where we are seven dedicated communicators with different skills and experiences working on overarching, strategic communication issues. Here you'll have the opportunity to both develop and contribute to development. The Communications Department is responsible for ensuring that communication is used strategically and thoughtfully, in collaboration with others or through our own activities. The work also involves handling the daily operational communication needs. In the role you'll collaborate with managers, specialists, and other employees throughout the municipality. You also work closely with communicators from the various departments. Our office is located in City Hall, centrally situated in Borås, near the central station. Job Responsibilities We're recruiting a Communications Strategist to drive, initiate, and implement communications initiatives in development processes and projects led by the City Executive Office. The work also involves developing and improving the quality of the municipality's communications together with your colleagues in the department. An important part of the department's mission is to provide communications support within preparedness, civil defense, and crime prevention work by translating complex information into clear and target-group-adapted communications for residents, employees, and other stakeholders. From the start of the new year, the municipality's crime prevention work will be organized under the City Executive Office's Center for Knowledge and Security department. The work also involves contributing to the municipality's crisis communication efforts. Strategically important communication issues are often handled together with departments under the leadership or coordination of the Communications Department, where you could take on a project management role. Qualifications You have a university degree in communications and media, or equivalent work experience that the employer deems equivalent. To succeed in the role, you have several years of experience in qualified communications work, at both strategic and operational levels. It's an advantage if you have experience in communications related to preparedness, civil defense, crisis communication, or crime prevention work. As a strategist, you're confident in your role driving and explaining the communications perspective in the working groups you're part of. You're a skilled writer with good sense of form and language, and have the ability to structure information and find the core of complex contexts. You have experience planning, producing, and publishing communications across different channels and formats. You're familiar with working in relevant tools for layout, image management, web publishing, and digital communications. As a person, you're proactive and take initiative to achieve results. You structure and plan your work independently and are both analytical and creative. To thrive as a Communications Strategist with us, it's important that you have the ability to work based on strategic improvisation. You're driven and capable of acting directly while planned work is ongoing. The role requires that you can make your own assessments and prioritizations and demonstrate good judgment in statements, actions, and decisions. Very strong collaboration skills and attentiveness are requirements for succeeding with the assignment.
