The city is just the right size and quite dynamic, offering wonderful opportunities for both urban life and nature. A large part of the parish is countryside with many beautiful small medieval churches and active congregation members. The city has direct rail connections to larger cities, and many young people choose to settle here with their families while commuting to work in Gothenburg, Jönköping, and Skövde. Falkoping Parish is characterized by a down-to-earth theology where we focus on proclaiming the Gospel. We place great emphasis on environmental and climate issues, work with the Rainbow Key, and an inclusive approach. The Position We are seeking a priest who appreciates the Church of Sweden as a people's church and who has the ability to encourage and strengthen the broad group of members in their faith. The position involves traditional pastoral duties including church services, worship, pastoral care, and confirmation classes. Within parish ministry, we work in a shared team structure with four groups. This position will initially be part of the Education group, which is based in the newly renovated and exciting facility Prästgården in the city center, which already has plenty of children and young families. All priests serve the parish as a whole. Our five congregations appreciate straightforward, simple, and accessible communication and wish to celebrate both services and mass. Priests typically work every other weekend.
