About the job Would you like to lead a kitchen where cooking, quality, and care are at the center? At Fredriksdal senior living community, we are now seeking an engaged and confident kitchen manager who wants to help create meals that bring both joy and well-being to our elderly residents. As kitchen manager, you will be the hub of the kitchen's daily operations. You lead the kitchen team, inspire colleagues, and ensure that every meal—from lunch and dinner to desserts—maintains high quality and is prepared with care. You work closely with cooks and meal service assistants, and you are a present leader who creates job satisfaction, structure, and security in everyday work. You collaborate closely with the unit manager and drive the kitchen's development forward with our residents in focus. The role is both creative and strategic, with responsibility for menu planning, recipe management, ordering, budget monitoring, and quality control. At Fredriksdal, we cook from scratch for our residents. You will also become part of our kitchen manager network where you have the opportunity to exchange experiences, develop ideas, and influence meal development in a broader context. Working hours are generally daytime 07:00–15:30, Monday to Friday, which provides a stable and sustainable work rhythm and creates good conditions for balance between work and personal life. Hours may vary slightly depending on operational needs. In this role you are responsible for: Daily kitchen operations – cooking, planning, and staffing Quality assurance of meals Menu planning and recipe management Orders and invoice handling Quality control Budget responsibility We are looking for you who: Have kitchen manager training or equivalent qualifications Have several years of experience as a cook and kitchen manager in restaurants or large-scale kitchens Have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written Meritorious: Experience with the Matilda dietary software Good knowledge of special diets and texture-modified foods To succeed in this role, you need to be someone who takes responsibility and works independently. You have a natural ability to create structure, follow up, and ensure that what you start is completed with good results. You plan and organize work in a clear way that gives the team the right conditions to deliver meals of high quality. You are confident in yourself and stand firm even when the pace is high, make well-founded decisions, and maintain focus in pressured situations. At the same time, you are a relationship builder who creates motivation and job satisfaction around you. Since you lead a team and work closely with many others, you meet changes with a solution-focused approach. You are pedagogical in your communication and show respect and service mindset toward both colleagues and residents.
