About the Workplace
Food service and facility maintenance are part of the community development sector and consist of four geographic areas with a total of approximately 70 employees. We are now looking for a resourceful and responsible cook for our kitchen at Ängås School in Svanesund. You will be part of a work group of six people. Through our work, we ensure that Ängås School and two surrounding preschools enjoy good and nutritious food. We actively work with digitalization and increasing our share of organic food, which currently stands at 60%. In 2022, Orust Municipality was named Municipality of the Year by Ekomatscentrum, and we also received Orust Municipality's quality award for our work in digitalizing self-inspection.
Your Tasks
Work as a cook involves handling all kitchen tasks such as cooking, preparing and planning special diets, baking, vegetable preparation, self-inspection, receiving goods, dishwashing, and cleaning. During absences at other units, work may require you to be at another workplace. Rotation and a flexible work approach are part of daily work. We want to spread both joy of food and knowledge about good and sustainable meals, which requires a high level of service.
About You
This job is perfect for you if you want to take personal responsibility and have a genuine interest in cooking and want to prepare good and nutritious food for our students in both primary school and preschool. Education in the restaurant and food service program or equivalent as assessed by the employer is required. You have good knowledge of special diets and food handling as well as experience working with self-inspection. You have a high level of service and good communication with customers, colleagues, and others you meet in your work every day, you see solutions instead of problems, and participate with commitment in our continuous development work. You collaborate with others to perform tasks and reach goals and easily adapt your work approach based on changing circumstances.
Since administrative tasks are also part of the work, you need good computer skills and excellent knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
Ability to work independently as well as good collaboration skills and a service-oriented approach are qualities we value highly. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
