About the Role
The Meal Services Unit in Vaxholm Municipality is responsible for meals in the municipality's preschools and schools and is part of the Department of Children and Education. We are approximately 25 employees who prepare and serve around 2,000 meals every day.
For us, the meal is more than food on a plate. Through good, nutritious, and sustainable meals, we contribute to children's and students' health, well-being, and learning. We cook from scratch using quality ingredients and strive to create positive meal experiences every day.
Now we are looking for you—someone who loves cooking and wants to combine kitchen craftsmanship with the opportunity to influence menus, develop operations, and lead daily work together with your team in the Söderfjärds School kitchen. This kitchen produces approximately 700 portions per day, of which around 250 are served on-site and the remainder are distributed to schools and preschools in the municipality.
Responsibilities
In this role, you lead and organize the daily work of a team consisting of one additional cook and two kitchen assistants, while being an active part of production yourself.
You are a key person in the meal services unit and an important link between the Söderfjärds kitchen and the facilities that receive our food. You work closely with the meal services director, school principals, teachers, and educators. You are responsible for planning menus for both Söderfjärds School and the facilities that receive meals from the kitchen.
The role also includes responsibility for procurement, the kitchen's budget, quality control, and quality assurance.

Qualifications
Documented experience working in and supervising a large-scale kitchen
Documented experience with budget monitoring and menu planning
Cook training/certification
Experience with special diets and training in food hygiene and HACCP
Excellent Swedish language skills, both spoken and written
