Your Role as a Temporary Cook
Your assignment as a temporary cook is to actively create joy in food and curiosity about it. In your work, you stimulate children's interest in flavors and ingredients, thereby contributing to making mealtimes a daily highlight. You help shape children's future healthy relationship with food, the environment, and health.
You now have the opportunity to be offered work as a cook for a month-long temporary position lasting approximately 1 to 6 months. The temporary positions are available at one of the municipality's 52 preschools, but primarily in our villages of Dalby, Veberöd, Genarp, Torna Hällestad, Södra Sandby, and Revingeby.
To be a suitable candidate, you need to be able to reach our facilities with relatively short notice. Therefore, access to your own car is an advantage.
When filling temporary positions, we will prioritize you who, in addition to relevant education and experience, can and want to work in our villages.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is a trained cook and has worked as a cook for at least two years. You have documented experience handling special diets and are familiar with self-inspection procedures (HACCP).
You must be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and be experienced with handling electronic ordering and common administrative systems.
If you have less than two years of kitchen experience, you can still apply, but you will initially be employed as a meal assistant.
Cook at School
Since the role of cook involves daily interaction with both children and staff, it is crucial that your interest extends beyond food, the environment, and health. You must also value and engage in the children and the preschool's pedagogical work.
As a person, you are creative and resourceful, show responsibility in your work, and have a natural ability to build strong, positive relationships.

We fill the need for short-term temporary workers when regular employees are absent due to illness/childcare leave, but also for planned absences such as vacation, training, or similar. In addition, we also fill month-long temporary positions, and now we are looking for you who is a trained cook and wants to work with us on a longer temporary assignment.
