Now there is an opportunity to work as a cook in Kungälvs kommun's largest production kitchen, located at Thorildskolan in central Kungälv. Here, approximately 4,000 portions are produced daily and distributed to satellite kitchens in preschools and schools throughout the municipality. The central kitchen also serves approximately 600 lunch guests every day in the adjacent dining hall at Thorildskolan. The operation works with both hot and chilled food production as well as the preparation and delivery of special diets to facilities throughout Kungälvs kommun. This places high demands on quality, knowledge, and precision. The position is suited for someone with experience in large-scale food service and strong expertise in special diets, sustainable cooking, and the green kitchen. The operation is at the forefront of using digital systems for recipes, self-inspection, and food waste tracking. The work is characterized by a strong focus on environment, health, and future meals. The main placement is at Thorildskolan's central kitchen, but deployment can, if needed, also take place in other kitchens within preschool, school, and elderly care. Work within elderly care activities may include weekend shifts. The position comprises 40 hours per week. Responsibilities As a cook, your tasks include planning and preparing meals, special diets, and adapted nutrition. Handle deliveries to satellite kitchens and serve our guests in the dining hall. Your responsibilities also include prep and cleanup in the kitchen, dishwashing, managing food waste, and working in the Mashie food data program. You will be part of a positive team where service and hospitality permeate the entire operation. Qualifications Upper secondary education in restaurant and large-scale food service and training in self-inspection and food hygiene. At least 5 years of experience as a cook in large-scale food service. You have good knowledge of special diets and are accustomed to adapting meals based on allergies, intolerances, and other individual dietary needs. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. Meritorious Cooking experience from the public sector. To succeed in this role, you are flexible and work well with others. You are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions and have the willingness and ability to communicate in your work role. You plan, organize, and prioritize work in an efficient manner. You are thorough and well aware of goals and quality standards and place great emphasis on meeting these. Your creativity often contributes ideas and new approaches to work-related matters. It is important to have good experience working with IT systems and you enjoy working as a digital colleague. Great weight will be placed on personal qualities.
