Your Assignment As a chef at FRA, you will be part of a unit within the Department for Operational Support. The department is responsible for finance, operational planning and follow-up, procurement and purchasing, facility management, HR, security, service, and information management. In your role as a chef, your main responsibilities are to be actively present and work operatively in daily operations to ensure production maintains the highest quality and efficiency. This includes tasks such as: Prepare and produce meals in large quantities from scratch for the employee restaurant, guest dining rooms, and large orders Work in both cold and hot kitchens Preparations and mise en place Actively work on waste reduction and resource-efficient production Other tasks may include participating in menu planning and improvement work in consultation with the head chef and other chefs, ensuring compliance with food hygiene regulations, self-inspection procedures, quality and food safety standards. The role also includes tasks such as dishwashing, cleaning, and other common duties in a large kitchen. The position involves frequent heavy lifting and occasionally high-paced work. Shift work may occur when needed. Your Qualifications We are looking for someone with: Secondary education in restaurant/culinary arts, or equivalent knowledge as assessed by the employer as equivalent At least 4 years of work experience in kitchens and cooking Experience handling special diets and allergen management Solid knowledge of food hygiene and self-inspection procedures Ability to use Word Strong Swedish language skills—reading, writing, speaking, and listening comprehension We consider it a merit if you have: Additional training or expertise in the field 5 or more years of work experience in kitchens or restaurants Experience working in cold kitchens Catering experience A la carte experience Banquet or event experience Experience working in the intelligence service or in a security-classified position Class B driver's license Your Character We are looking for someone with the following qualities: Self-driven – Takes responsibility for your tasks. Swedish citizenship is required as employment at FRA involves placement in a security classification.
