About the job The Meals and Facility Management department in Lidköping Municipality delivers well-prepared and nutritious food to preschools, schools, and elderly care – every day. We see meals as an important part of the day: they provide energy, create security, and contribute to recovery for both children and seniors. As a cook with us, the work is about more than just cooking. You work closely with the operations, inspire your guests to try new things, and contribute to increased understanding of food from all perspectives. With us, there are great opportunities to develop and influence your own work. Work tasks You will work as a cook in Ågården's elderly residential/preschool kitchen. This provides a varied workday and broad experience across different operational areas, and you'll have several colleagues in the kitchen. The role includes, among other things: Prepare and serve food with a focus on quality, nutrition, and sustainability Handle special diets and follow applicable guidelines Manage self-inspection and statistics digitally and assist with orders as needed Work independently and in groups Since parts of the work are handled digitally, good computer skills are a requirement. Who are you? We're looking for you who are responsible, collaboration-oriented, and have a passion for good food and satisfied guests. You're accustomed to working in a structured manner, enjoy taking your own initiatives, and are happy to contribute ideas to develop the operations. To succeed in the role, you must have: Upper secondary education in institutional/restaurant cooking 1–3 years of experience working in institutional kitchens and/or restaurants Knowledge and experience handling special diets Good knowledge of Swedish in speaking and writing Basic computer skills (e.g., Office, email, diet systems) Meritorious: Experience with diet data systems (e.g., Matilda) Experience with vegan and vegetarian cooking Knowledge of climate-smart and sustainable food handling Experience with chilled food production We place great emphasis on personal suitability, good collaboration skills, and the ability to contribute to a positive work environment. Other information The position is a permanent employment at 100%, currently placed at Ågården. Interviews may begin during the application period. We apply individual and differentiated salary setting. For this position, the monthly salary is between 28 700kr – 33 100kr, depending on experience, education, and competence. The work requires a certificate from the criminal record registry. Work in school or preschool | Swedish Police Authority Registry certificate Before offering employment, you as a candidate are required to submit a certificate from the criminal record registry for work in any of the following areas: school or preschool, work with children in operations other than school and childcare, work with children under the Act on Support and Services for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments, work at or in connection with residential care homes, work with seniors or persons with disabilities. You order the certificate through the Police website. The certificate must be presented before employment can begin.
