The Land Survey Unit is part of the City Engineer's Office, which is located at the Community Development Office and is an important part of Kalmar Municipality's development work. The City Engineer's Office works with land survey matters, surveying, various types of map production, GIS analyses, and more. The Community Development Office also includes the Planning and Building Permit, and Environment divisions. Welcome to us! 1 position(s). WORK TASKS We are now seeking a cartography engineer who, with competence and commitment, wants to work in a varied role where you both drive your own tasks independently and collaborate closely with colleagues. The Land Survey Unit consists of a dedicated, knowledgeable, and experienced group of 11 employees. Here we work with, among others, land survey officers, land survey assistants, and cartography engineers. The Municipality's land survey authority is responsible for property formation and maintenance of the national property register and the digital cadastral map. The authority is also a consulted party in the detailed planning process. We also work with property investigations, advice on property law issues, inquiries from the public, and participation in detailed planning work. In the role of cartography engineer, the focus is on producing surveying maps, registration tasks, and quality assurance of information in our registers. You will work with, among other things, maintaining the digital cadastral map, DRK, and quality control of products and changes related to boundaries and plan boundaries. The position also includes work with property records and review of new construction maps and base maps. When needed, other surveying and GIS assignments, surveying administration, and property investigations may be part of your work tasks. We have close collaboration within the organization, and therefore it may also be relevant for you to participate in joint projects within the department. The work is developmental and varied, where you get to take significant responsibility and work alongside several experienced colleagues. We help and support each other in our work. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has education in cartography and surveying technology, land surveying, or GIS from a college or university, or alternatively other education that the employer deems appropriate. It is meritorious if you have experience working as a cartography engineer. Experience in cartography and property registration is also meritorious, as is good understanding of geodata and database structures. You have good IT skills and good knowledge of some GIS system. We would like you to have knowledge of, or experience with, the Trossen case management system and map drawing systems. Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro and AutoCAD is meritorious. Knowledge of property law and the various stages of the community development process is also valuable for the role. You have good verbal and written communication skills in Swedish.
