We are located in activity-based offices in central Stockholm. Job responsibilities We are now seeking experienced lawyers for our supervision activities. In this part of the agency's operations, the Swedish Schools Inspectorate ensures that schools and school providers comply with regulatory requirements in their activities. As a lawyer you will have the opportunity to work with current and challenging legal issues primarily within school law, but also in areas such as association law and administrative law. Our supervision is conducted based on a risk-based selection, which means we investigate schools assessed to have a high risk of deficiencies in their operations. As an investigator you conduct qualified investigation work, primarily through school visits and document reviews. This includes observations in various operations and interviews with, among others, students, teachers, principals, and representatives of school providers. Contacts with other authorities and the public are also part of the work. As an investigator you work in an interdisciplinary manner with the agency's various professional categories. You conduct regular school visits together with another investigator. Visits sometimes involve travel with overnight stays. Furthermore, as an investigator you prepare agency decisions in your case where the school provider can be ordered to rectify identified deficiencies. If necessary, more significant sanctions may become relevant. In your role as a lawyer you serve as legal support to your colleagues and ensure that our decisions maintain high quality and are legally correct. The work may also involve drafting legally sound decisions in more serious cases, i.e., where our order is combined with a penalty, or where we revoke a permit. In certain cases it becomes relevant to conduct an owner and management review where we assess whether those responsible for the school have insight into what applies to the operation and how to run a business. We also assess whether management otherwise is appropriate. When we conduct inspections to verify that the school provider has the financial capacity to operate a school, this is done in collaboration with the agency's economic audit unit. The work may also include other assignments, such as serving as a decision-maker, project lawyer, or participating in the agency's work to develop government opinion statements, participating in reference groups for various government assignments, and conducting training and presentations within the agency. Qualifications You shall have Law degree (Jur. kand. or equivalent) at least two years of current experience in qualified legal work that the Swedish Schools Inspectorate deems relevant experience in investigation work good communication skills, both verbal and written It is a merit to have notary certification or other experience that the employer deems equivalent experience with school law issues and current knowledge of the Swedish education system experience working with supervision experience conducting interviews good knowledge of association law We are looking for you who are thorough, structured, and have very good analytical ability are efficient and can work at a high pace can handle changes and new circumstances have good ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel have ease in working both independently and with others Your personal qualities and abilities will be given significant weight.
