About IT Operations At SMHI, we achieve well-functioning IT operations by providing user-friendly, cost-effective and fit-for-purpose IT services and tools. The department consists of approximately 130 employees who work with all aspects of development and management throughout the entire chain from idea to operation within applications and infrastructure. SMHI has operations with different conditions, which places great demands on IT operations and the IT support that SMHI's employees need. About the Position You will become part of a team that develops and operates SMHI's IT infrastructure — with a focus on security, automation and modern platforms. In the role, you will work within the technical areas of Identity and Access and within our IT security function. Within Identity and Access, you work together with experienced colleagues on solutions related to Active Directory, certificates, authentication and access management. You participate in developing, automating and improving our services, among other things with the help of AWX/Ansible and modern server operations. Within the IT security function, you work to strengthen SMHI's cybersecurity through both technical and more analytical work. It's about identifying risks, improving security solutions, supporting other technical areas and contributing to more secure working methods in the organization. You participate in everything from updates and troubleshooting to design and implementation of new solutions. The work takes place close to system administrators, architects and security specialists where collaboration and knowledge sharing are a natural part of daily life. SMHI is also undergoing a technology shift with investments in, among other things, containerization, network segmentation and automation, which provides great opportunities to develop within several different technical areas over time. SMHI is an authority with 24/7 operations. Scheduled on-call duty with contractual compensation occurs within the unit. Over time, you are expected to be able to participate in the on-call team. About You We are looking for you with relevant post-secondary education of at least 2 years in IT infrastructure and/or in the IT security field, or alternatively experience or knowledge that SMHI considers equivalent. You have good experience with both Windows and Linux environments on both client and server side. You also have good knowledge of both Swedish and English. It is meritorious if you have education and/or experience in: Directory services and identity management, for example Active Directory, LDAP, Kerberos or equivalent technologies. Authentication, authorization or single sign-on, for example SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect or equivalent. Identity and Access Management, for example access management, account management, identities, access reviews or user lifecycle management. Practical work with IT security in infrastructure environments, for example hardening, logging, vulnerability management, security monitoring or technical security measures. Version control, for example with Gitlab. Automation or scripting, for example Ansible, Python or other tools to streamline recurring tasks. Your personal qualities and abilities are crucial for you to succeed and thrive in the assignment. You have strong self-motivation and persistence, you can stay motivated and efficient despite setbacks and have a sense of loyalty. Although you work in a group, personal responsibility lies in driving and managing the areas for which you are responsible. You are motivated by working with qualified colleagues in an exciting environment and have the drive and motivation to take responsibility for your own development. Therefore, you need to possess a high level of curiosity and investigative qualities. You are service-oriented and receptive to user needs, but without compromising on accuracy, efficiency and security aspects. A strong security awareness is of course also an important skill and quality in this position.
