Jewish Museum Seeks Coordinator Do you enjoy bringing together many threads and creating the conditions for a vibrant museum operation? The Jewish Museum in Gamla stan is a living place for history, cultural heritage, and conversations about Jewish life in Sweden from the 1700s to today. Much happens here: we arrange tours, school programs and city walks, as well as concerts, theater performances, lectures and author talks. In parallel, we work with exhibitions, collections management and various development projects. Now we are seeking an engaged and well-organized coordinator for a one-year parental leave position. About the role As a coordinator, you have a central role in the museum's ongoing operations. You bring together planning, processes and practical matters and ensure that information, materials and different parts of the operation are in place at the right time. An important part of the role is the museum's program activities. You plan and coordinate public events from idea to implementation and maintain contact with participants, collaborators and suppliers. You also work with the museum's internal coordination and administration and project lead certain development projects, including the launch of the museum's new website. The work takes place in close collaboration with the museum's communications officer and other staff members. You step into a key role at a small museum where the path from idea to implementation is short and where collaboration across areas of responsibility is a natural part of daily work. Work tasks Your main work tasks are to: coordinate the museum's ongoing operations, follow up on timelines and activities and help ensure that internal processes and information flows function smoothly plan and carry out the museum's program activities and public events, including contact with participants and collaborators as well as practical planning and follow-up project lead selected development projects, including the launch of the museum's new website, in collaboration with the communications officer, web agency and other suppliers coordinate and prepare materials for, for example, activity reports, planning and follow-up, and assist the museum director with ongoing materials handle certain operational administrative tasks and external contacts related to the museum's daily work. Since the Jewish Museum is a small organization, we help each other across areas of responsibility when the operation requires it. We are looking for you who have experience in coordination or project management, preferably within the culture, museum or events sector. You are a skilled organizer who enjoys creating structure and can hold together several parallel processes without losing sight of the big picture. You work independently and methodically and are experienced in driving projects from planning to implementation. At the same time, you thrive in a role with many contact points and in collaborating closely with colleagues, external partners and the public. Since we are a small workplace, we place great importance on you being responsive, unpretentious and solution-oriented and appreciate open and clear dialogue in daily work. Qualifications We are looking for you who have: relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience that we consider equivalent experience in coordination and project management experience in planning and carrying out public programs, events, projects or productions, preferably within the culture sector very good administrative and digital skills advanced ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish as well as good ability to work in English. Merits It is a merit if you have experience working in the museum or culture sector as well as experience with web development projects or other digital development projects. Knowledge of or interest in Swedish-Jewish cultural heritage and national minorities is also a merit. We place great importance on personal suitability, collaboration skills and your ability to quickly get up to speed on the operation.
