At Berg Marin, we don't just work with technical documentation – we also build understanding for how our IT systems actually function in practice. In this role, that's exactly what's at the center: documenting, describing, and securing IT environments in complex marine systems where structure and clarity are essential.
This is a role for you who enjoys technology, but most of all enjoys documenting it. You thrive at understanding how systems work and translating that into clear and well-thought-out descriptions that others can build on and trust. You work closely with both systems and installations, but your primary task is to make the technical understandable.
Responsibilities
You work with developing and managing technical documentation related to IT systems and IT security in marine environments. The role combines analysis, practical work, and documentation – where you contribute to creating structure and clarity in complex systems. You familiarize yourself with how systems are built, how they communicate, and what risks exist. Based on that, you analyze the security situation and ensure that both solutions and deficiencies are clearly documented.
Your main responsibilities are to:
Document IT systems, networks, and configurations
Analyze the security situation and identify risks and deficiencies
Participate in installation, configuration, and startup of systems onboard
Produce network diagrams and describe how systems are interconnected
Ensure clear and traceable documentation according to customer requirements
What We Offer
With us, you get to work with IT security in real systems, where documentation is an important part of the whole. You work on understanding how systems function in practice and translating that into clear descriptions that can be used in both operations and further work. The role is varied and combines technology, practical work, and documentation. You work closely with experienced colleagues and have the opportunity to grow into the tasks and take on more responsibility over time.
We're looking for someone with an interest in IT security and technology, and who thinks it's just as important to document as to work practically with systems. You have a technical understanding and are curious about how different systems connect – from networks and servers to installation in real environments. You don't need to know everything from the start, but you're comfortable with the basics, dare to try things out, and can work in a structured way even when all information isn't available.
To succeed in the role, we see that you have:
Basic understanding of IT infrastructure (networks, systems, and servers)
Ability to write clear technical documentation in Swedish
Driver's license (Class B) and ability to travel for work (travel occurs to our shipyards around Sweden, expect approximately 6 weeks/year)
Experience with IT security, Linux/Windows, practical work with installation or configuration is a merit, but not required.
