The Digitalization and Service Division is responsible for Mid Sweden University's IT, Service Center, Archives and Document Management, and media production. The division consists of approximately 50 employees and operates in both Östersund and Sundsvall. Within the division, technical support, development, operations, information security, telephony, and service center functions are managed. The division holds both operational and strategic responsibility in these areas. IT Operations & Development is one of four units within the Digitalization and Service Division at Mid Sweden University. The unit consists of 15 employees and is tasked with delivering operations and development services in an efficient, secure, and service-oriented manner. The target audience includes students, staff, and external stakeholders. Responsibilities Mid Sweden University is seeking a driven and experienced IT architect with a focus on security who wants to contribute to developing our IT environment and drive technical transformation in a complex organization. In this role, you will be an important part of developing and managing IT architecture while contributing to long-term sustainable, robust, and secure technical solutions. You will work closely with IT specialists, developers, operations functions, business units, and other stakeholders. You are also expected to participate in and lead assignments and development initiatives while providing support on architecture and technical direction matters. Your areas of responsibility will include: Develop and further develop IT architecture and technical solutions Participate in and drive architecture and technical direction decisions Contribute to target architecture, technical principles, and standardization Provide support to projects, management organizations, and business units on technical matters Participate in matters related to cloud services, integrations, identity, and IT security Integrate security requirements and security principles into architecture and technical solutions Participate in technical assessments and requirements specification for implementation and procurement of IT solutions Your Background You have academic education in IT, computer science, systems science, or equivalent experience that the employer deems equivalent. We are looking for someone with several years of experience in IT and who is accustomed to working with complex IT environments, architecture, and technical solutions. We would appreciate if you have experience in several of the following areas: IT architecture and solution design IT security and security architecture Cloud services and IT platforms Azure and Microsoft 365 Identity and access management Integrations and system landscapes Infrastructure, backup, and recovery Your Qualities To thrive and succeed in this role, you are analytical, structured, and have the ability to see the big picture. You are confident in technical decisions and can communicate complex matters clearly. You work independently while collaborating well with both technical specialists and business units. You have a natural focus on security, robustness, and long-term sustainable solutions. In this recruitment, we place great emphasis on your personal qualities. Availability for overtime and travel may occur in the position. Employment and Start Date The employment is a permanent full-time position with a start date of December 1, 2026, by agreement.
