We are currently seeking an interim unit manager for a consultant position at Lidköping Miljö och Teknik! The company is municipally owned and responsible for critical infrastructure in Lidköping Municipality, including water and wastewater, broadband, electricity networks, and waste management. The organization has approximately 120 employees with expertise in engineering, operations, safety, economics, and the environment.
The Water and Wastewater Business Unit consists of approximately 45 employees and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the municipality's water treatment plants, wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, pressure boosting stations, reservoirs, and distribution networks, as well as expansion of the water and wastewater infrastructure. The unit serves approximately 7,000 customers and plays a central role in Lidköping's continued development and efforts toward a sustainable society.
Over the coming years, extensive development initiatives will be undertaken within water and wastewater systems, including expansion of the distribution network and construction of the new wastewater treatment plant Ängens ARV. This investment is an important part of the municipality's continued development with a focus on sustainable wastewater treatment, innovation, and improved water quality.
In your role as interim unit manager, you will be responsible for the water and wastewater treatment unit and will have overall responsibility for the operation of water and wastewater facilities, excluding the distribution network. You will lead the operations together with two operations managers and ten operations and meter technicians, working both operatively and strategically to ensure efficient, safe, and sustainable operations.
As interim unit manager, you will work with:
Planning and leading the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities together with the operations managers
Ensuring required meter replacements for customers
Taking personnel responsibility and leading and developing employees individually and as a group
Ensuring high-quality and sustainable access to clean water and safe facility operations
Responsibility for budget, follow-up, and short-term resource planning
Ensuring compliance with permit, environmental, occupational health and safety, and security requirements
Developing procedures and processes within the operations
Collaborating with other parts of the organization, related technical areas, departments, and external parties on development projects
Participating in the business unit's management group
The assignment also includes handling complex personnel-related matters and, if necessary, implementing changes in operations. This may include reviewing and structuring working time matters, breaks and rest periods, overtime, compensatory time off, and planning and scheduling of work outside regular working hours.
This is a consultant assignment, which means you will be employed by StudentConsulting and work as a consultant at Lidköping Miljö och Teknik. The position is full-time and runs until March 1, 2027, with the possibility of extension.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking someone with:
Relevant academic degree in engineering, water and wastewater systems, or equivalent field, or experience deemed equivalent
Several years of experience with operation and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities, preferably from municipal water and wastewater operations or process industry
Several years of experience in personnel management and leading technical operations organizations
Driver's license category B
Good understanding of occupational health and safety, environmental, and procurement requirements
Very good Swedish in speech and writing and good documentation skills
