Scope: 100% Placement location: Stockholm Assignment start: Immediately Assignment duration: 9–12 months About the Assignment Selecta Recruitment is seeking an experienced interim Chief Financial Officer / CFO for an extended consulting assignment with a client in Stockholm. You will have a central role in the organization and be part of the management team. As Chief Financial Officer, you are expected to be a strategic advisor to the CEO and other senior management while ensuring stable, efficient, and forward-looking financial management. An important part of the assignment is to lead and develop the finance function. You will work with both ongoing financial operations and change initiatives related to organization, roles, responsibilities, processes, collaboration, and ways of working. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will, among other things: Lead the finance unit with personnel responsibility and ensure continuity and quality in daily operations. Manage and develop budget, forecast, accounting, financial statements, reporting, and financial monitoring. Responsible for internal governance and control and quality assure financial decision-making materials. Actively contribute to the management team and translate business strategy and priorities into financial management, objectives, and monitoring. Serve as a qualified advisor to the CEO, management team, and operational managers. Plan, lead, and implement change initiatives within the finance function. Develop organization, roles, responsibilities, processes, and ways of working. Create understanding, participation, and engagement among employees in connection with change and development work. Develop financial processes, governance models, KPIs, decision-support tools, and digital ways of working. Ensure structured documentation and handover upon completion of the assignment. Qualifications – Required To be suitable for this assignment, you must have: An academic degree in economics of at least 180 credits or equivalent qualification. At least five years of documented experience as a CFO, Chief Financial Officer, Financial Director, or equivalent, with overall responsibility for budget, forecast, accounting, and financial monitoring. At least three years of documented experience serving in senior management, management team, or equivalent strategic leadership forum. At least three years of documented management experience with personnel responsibility for at least five employees. Experience planning, leading, and implementing at least one major change initiative in financial or operational management. The change initiative must have encompassed at least two of the following areas: organization, roles, responsibilities, decision processes, or ways of working. At least five years of documented experience with qualified work in accounting and financial management, including budget, forecast, monitoring, reporting, and internal governance and control. Documented experience with overall responsibility for annual reports, financial statements, and external financial reporting. Experience with responsibility for compliance with relevant tax, accounting, and finance-related regulations. Meritorious Experience It is particularly advantageous if you have: Experience leading change initiatives and creating understanding, participation, and engagement among employees. Ability to manage resistance and create buy-in during organizational changes. Experience pedagogically presenting complex financial information and change needs to employees, management, and other stakeholders. Led at least two major change initiatives within a finance function where employees were actively involved. Experience with financial management and monitoring of business, service, investment, or project portfolios. Experience with analyses of costs, resource utilization, priorities, and financial consequences. Experience as a CFO or Chief Financial Officer developing governance models, KPI structures, business monitoring, or decision-support tools for the CEO, management team, or board. At least three years of experience with similar tasks in the public sector, municipal company, region, state agency, or other politically controlled organization. Experience with long-term financial planning and scenario analyses as a basis for strategic priorities, investments, or change decisions. Experience from a knowledge-intensive service organization, such as IT, digitalization, consulting, or other specialist business. Experience with pricing services or offerings, pricing models, and development and assessment of profitability calculations.
