Food and Veterinary Service (registration no. LV90000064301) announces a competition for a vacant civil service position WESTERN DISTRICT DEPARTMENT INSPECTOR (Food Supervision Field) (one position for an indefinite period, workplace: "Krīvi", Tumes Parish, Tukuma Municipality, as well as facilities within the Western District Department's supervision territory). Learn more about PVD: https://www.pvd.gov.lv/lv IF YOU HAVE: compliance with the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law; higher education in veterinary medicine; category B driver's license; desired professional work experience in the field/sector or specialty; computer user skills (MS Office) at a level appropriate for quality performance of job duties; very good knowledge of the Latvian language; very good communication skills; desired English language knowledge that allows you to use documents and literature in the field of job activities – food and animal product export document preparation, opportunity to study on an international learning platform; willingness to work in a team and ability to collaborate; ability to plan your time and set priorities; willingness to show initiative and orientation toward achieving results. IF YOU WISH TO INVEST YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS IN INTERESTING, RESPONSIBLE AND DYNAMIC WORK: issue veterinary certificates for animal-origin products, as well as conduct inspections at animal-origin production facilities (slaughterhouses); additionally acquire knowledge and skills in the field of food supervision; control the activities of natural and legal persons engaged in the food sector in accordance with regulatory requirements; learn and work with information systems; prepare administrative acts, documents in administrative violation cases in accordance with regulatory requirements; organize and conduct sample collection for laboratory testing.
