Do you want to work at the intersection of operations, information, and technology and be part of developing the digital solutions that keep public transportation running? As an IT Systems Analyst at Kalmar länstrafik, you'll play a central role in developing our systems, information flows, and digital services. You'll work with the complete picture—from traffic data and real-time information to customer-facing services and system support for specialized public transportation. Public transportation is a complex and information-intensive operation. Our systems need to work seamlessly with Region Kalmar län's shared IT environment as well as with solutions from transportation companies, vendors, and national actors. Here, you'll be a vital link between operations and technology. As an IT Systems Analyst, you're responsible for structuring and developing how information and systems support operational needs. You'll work on both current solutions and how our systems and information environment needs to evolve long-term. You'll work closely with our Head of Technology and Digitalization, system administrators, operational specialists, Region Kalmar län's IT organization, and external vendors. Your role includes, among other things: Mapping, describing, and developing information flows between operations and systems Translating operational needs into functional requirements, information requirements, and integration requirements Working with information structures, concepts, data quality, and information models Analyzing system dependencies and contributing to coherent development of the system landscape Ensuring that traffic data and other information flows have the right quality, structure, and usability Developing processes for, for example, traffic data, real-time information, and incident information Participating in requirements specification and evaluation for system and traffic procurements Contributing to development projects, feasibility studies, and implementations Analyzing recurring system and information problems and proposing long-term solutions Serving as the operations team's qualified partner in dialogue with IT, system vendors, and other external stakeholders Your work encompasses both regular and specialized public transportation, meaning you'll interact with systems and information flows within bus traffic, rail traffic, paratransit services, and medical transportation. About You We're looking for someone with relevant post-secondary education in fields such as IT systems analysis, systems science, information architecture, IT, or equivalent expertise that the employer deems equivalent. To succeed in this role, you need: Experience analyzing and describing information flows and relationships between different systems Good understanding of system integrations, APIs, and information exchange Experience translating complex operational needs into clear and usable requirements Ability to analyze problems from operations, information, and system perspectives Strong ability to communicate in both Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing It's a plus if you have experience with: Public transportation, mobility, or other critical infrastructure operations Traffic data and standards such as NOPTIS, NeTEx, SIRI, and GTFS Real-time and incident information Information modeling, master data, or data quality work Requirements specification in procurement pm3 or equivalent frameworks for operations and IT governance Systems analysis, information management, or operations-focused IT As a person, you take initiative and independently drive matters from need to result. You have a strategic perspective and understand how decisions and changes affect operations long-term. You apply and develop your specialized knowledge in this field and can translate complex issues into solutions that work in practice. Your Future Workplace As an IT Systems Analyst, you'll be part of the Technology and Digitalization department, working closely with both day-to-day public transportation operations and its long-term development.
