An official is a person with appropriate professional education, qualifications and special service rank who has taken an oath and serves in the Administration. The rights and duties of officials are determined by the Prison Administration Law and the Law on Service Procedure for Officials with Special Service Ranks in the Interior Ministry System and Prison Administration. Vacancy: Senior Inspector (contact person) of the Resocialization Department, Riga Central Prison, 5413 02 Position Type: Full-time Salary: from 1795 EUR Work Location: Prison Administration Riga Central Prison – Mazā Matīsa iela 5, Riga, LV-1009 Contact Information: 67290314; 67290148, [email protected] Submit CV and cover letter to: [email protected]; [email protected] Requirements for Candidates: Compliance with requirements established in the Law on Service Procedure for Officials with Special Service Ranks in the Interior Ministry System and Prison Administration: - Latvian citizen; - Age from 18 to 50 years; - At least first level professional higher education; - Latvian language proficiency level C tier 2; - Physical fitness meets the requirements set by the Cabinet of Ministers (Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 288 of 28.05.2013 "Physical Fitness Requirements for Officials with Special Service Ranks in the Interior Ministry System and Prison Administration"); - Health condition and psychological characteristics meet the requirements set by the Cabinet of Ministers (Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 970 of 21.11.2006 "Regulations on the Health Condition and Psychological Characteristics Required for Officials with Special Service Ranks and Candidates for Official Positions in the Interior Ministry System and Prison Administration and the Procedure for Examination of Health Condition and Psychological Characteristics"); - Not convicted for intentional criminal offense – regardless of conviction expungement or removal; - Not sentenced for intentional criminal offense with exemption from punishment; - Not prosecuted for committing an intentional criminal offense, except where the official was prosecuted but the criminal proceedings were terminated on rehabilitating grounds; - Not recognized as legally incapable in the manner established by law; - Not dismissed from service in the Interior Ministry System or Prison Administration due to disciplinary dismissal; - Good computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel); - Ability to plan and organize work, execute assigned tasks in priority order; - Excellent communication skills, high psychological resilience; - Ability to work both in teams and individually; - Strong sense of responsibility, analytical thinking, ability to work under high-intensity conditions. Duties: - Inform prisoners of their rights and duties; - Conduct individual resocialization work with prisoners; - Organize leisure activities for prisoners; - Review petitions, proposals, complaints and reports on resocialization matters, prepare responses; - Assess the risks and needs of convicted persons, develop resocialization plans and ensure their implementation; - Prepare documents for evaluation commissions and courts regarding the convicted person's participation in planned resocialization activities and achieved results; - Review prisoner disciplinary case materials and provide recommendations on applicable penalty type; - Ensure supervision of convicted persons and compliance with internal order (conduct person and premises inspections and searches, escort convicted persons within and outside detention facility territory, ensure prisoner supervision during resocialization activity implementation, participate in prisoner headcounts).
