An official is a person with appropriate professional education, qualifications, and special service rank who has taken an oath and serves in the Administration. The rights and duties of an official are determined by the Prison Administration Law and the Law on Service Procedure for Officials with Special Service Ranks of the Ministry of Internal Affairs System Institutions and Prison Administration. Vacancy: Senior Inspector (Contact Person) of the Resocialization Department, Valmiera Prison, 5413 02 Position Type: Full-time Salary: from 1795 EUR Work Location: Prison Administration's Valmiera Prison – Dzirnavu iela 32, Valmiermuiža, Valmieras pag., Valmieras nov., LV-4219 Contact Information: 64123906; 67290148, [email protected] Submit CV and motivation letter to: [email protected]; [email protected] Requirements for Candidates: Compliance with requirements established in the Law on Service Procedure for Officials with Special Service Ranks of the Ministry of Internal Affairs System Institutions and Prison Administration: Latvian citizenship; Age from 18 to 50 years; At least first-level professional higher education; Latvian language proficiency at level C level 2; Physical fitness in accordance with requirements set by the Cabinet of Ministers (Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 288 of 28.05.2013 "Physical Fitness Requirements for Officials with Special Service Ranks of the Ministry of Internal Affairs System Institutions and Prison Administration"); Health condition and psychological characteristics in accordance with requirements set by the Cabinet of Ministers (Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 970 of 21.11.2006 "Regulations on Health Condition and Psychological Characteristics Required for Officials with Special Service Ranks of the Ministry of Internal Affairs System Institutions and Prison Administration and Official Position Candidates and Health Condition and Psychological Characteristics Examination Procedure"); No conviction for intentional criminal offense – regardless of conviction expungement or removal; No conviction for intentional criminal offense with exemption from punishment; No criminal prosecution initiated for commission of intentional criminal offense, except in cases where criminal proceedings against the person have been terminated on rehabilitative grounds; Not declared incapable in accordance with legal procedure; Not dismissed from service in the Ministry of Internal Affairs system or Prison Administration due to disciplinary penalty of dismissal from service; Good computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel); Ability to plan and organize work, perform assigned tasks in priority order; Good communication skills, high psychological resilience; Ability to work both in a team and individually; High sense of responsibility, analytical thinking, ability to work under conditions of increased intensity. Duties: Inform detainees of their rights and duties; Conduct individual resocialization work with detainees; Organize leisure activities for detainees; Consider petitions, proposals, complaints, and reports on resocialization matters, prepare responses; Assess convicted person's risks and needs, develop resocialization plan and ensure its implementation; Prepare documents for the review commission and court regarding the convicted person's participation in planned resocialization activities and results achieved; Consider disciplinary case materials of a detainee and provide recommendations on applicable type of punishment; Ensure supervision of convicted persons and compliance with internal order (conduct personal and premises inspections and searches, escort convicted persons within and outside the prison territory, ensure supervision of detainees during resocialization activities implementation, participate in numerical checks of detainees).
