An official is a person with appropriate professional education, qualifications and special service rank who has taken an oath and serves in the Administration. The rights and duties of an official are determined by the Prison Administration Law and the Law on Service Procedures for Officials with Special Service Ranks at the Institutions of the Ministry of Interior System and the Prison Administration. Vacancy: Senior Inspector (Contact Person), Resocialization Department, Liepāja Prison, 5413 02 Employment: Full-time Salary: from 1795 EUR Work Location: Liepāja Prison of the Prison Administration – Alsungas iela 29, Liepāja, LV-3414 Contact Information: 63422305; 67290148, [email protected] Submit CV and motivation letter to: [email protected]; [email protected] Requirements for Candidates: Compliance with requirements specified in the Law on Service Procedures for Officials with Special Service Ranks at the Institutions of the Ministry of Interior System and the Prison Administration: is a Latvian citizen; age from 18 to 50 years; at least first-level professional higher education; Latvian language proficiency at level C, tier 2; physical fitness meets requirements established by the Cabinet of Ministers (Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 288 of 28.05.2013 "Physical Fitness Requirements for Officials with Special Service Ranks at the Institutions of the Ministry of Interior System and the Prison Administration"); health status and psychological characteristics meet requirements established by the Cabinet of Ministers (Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 970 of 21.11.2006 "Regulations on Health Status and Psychological Characteristics Required for Officials with Special Service Ranks at the Institutions of the Ministry of Interior System and the Prison Administration and Official Candidates, and the Procedure for Examining Health Status and Psychological Characteristics"); has not been convicted of an intentional criminal offense – regardless of expungement or removal of conviction; has not been convicted of an intentional criminal offense with suspended sentence; has not been prosecuted for committing an intentional criminal offense, except where the official has been prosecuted but criminal proceedings have been terminated on rehabilitating grounds; has not been declared legally incapable in the manner prescribed by law; has not been dismissed from service in the Ministry of Interior System or Prison Administration due to disciplinary dismissal; good computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel); ability to plan and organize work and perform assigned tasks in priority order; strong communication skills, high psychological resilience; ability to work both as a team member and independently; high sense of responsibility, analytical thinking, ability to work under high-intensity conditions. Duties: Inform inmates about their rights and responsibilities; conduct individual resocialization work with inmates; organize leisure activities for inmates; review submissions, proposals, complaints and reports on resocialization matters, prepare responses; assess risks and needs of convicted persons, develop resocialization plans and ensure their implementation; prepare documents for the evaluation commission and court regarding the convicted person's participation in planned resocialization activities and achieved results; review the inmate's disciplinary case materials and provide recommendations on the type of penalty to be applied; ensure supervision of convicted persons and compliance with internal order (conduct searches of persons and premises, escort convicted persons within and outside the detention facility territory, ensure supervision of inmates during resocialization activities, participate in numerical checks of inmates).
