Spandelstorpskolan is a grades F-6 school with approximately 380 students. In each grade level, there are two to three classes. This makes it so that the physical education teacher position typically means you teach only physical education and health.
The school has a gymnasium that was partially renovated in spring 2026. The schoolyard is large with several different types of activity areas suitable for both recess activities and physical education instruction. It is being renovated now and is expected to be completely finished in November. The school is located next to several natural areas that enable sports activities outside the school grounds.
As a physical education teacher, you teach all classes in grades 1-6, possibly with some exceptions. The school has a tradition of organizing and participating in various sports and outdoor activities such as hiking, activity day at Trummenäs, trippelboll, Skoljoggen, and Vårruset where, among others, classroom teachers and physical education teachers collaborate.
The school has four different work teams: teachers for grades F-3, teachers for grades 4-6, after-school care, and support staff. As a physical education teacher, you are part of one of the teacher work teams. Development work at the school is conducted in different constellations based on themes. For example, during a development initiative, we created a special focus for practical-aesthetic teachers based on the fact that they meet all or most of the school's students every week in short sessions and what demands and opportunities that entails.

JOB DUTIES
Your responsibilities include planning and implementing physical education instruction independently based on the curriculum, school law, and other governing documents. You collaborate with classroom teachers, after-school care staff, student support resources, and student welfare services to provide the best instruction for each student group and to make adaptations for individual students. You collaborate when needed with colleagues who have physical education instruction for a class or grade level in their position.
A very important part of your work is that you place great emphasis on building relationships with students to create a safe and permissive environment. Similarly, you work to build good and professional relationships with guardians.
Through your approach and the way you plan physical education instruction, you are an inspiration for students to participate actively and challenge themselves in the various components of physical education.
The job duties also include documenting according to applicable governing documents, routines, and guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be qualified for the position, you need to have a teaching certificate with the authority to teach physical education and health for grades 1-6.
It is a merit if you have the authority to teach one or more additional subjects for the grades mentioned.
