About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking more staff members. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the cycle of crime. When we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand centers, and client transport. The HR Department's primary task is to ensure that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service has good conditions to further develop its ability to reach its goals by being an attractive employer, workplace, training coordinator, and collaborative partner that makes a difference in society. The HR Department consists of four units and has approximately 400 employees distributed across the units of operational HR, planning and employer development, leadership and employee relations, and training. The Operational HR unit is tasked with identifying, developing, implementing, and following up on employer support to managers within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. The unit provides operational HR support, advice, and guidance so that managers are strengthened in their employer role and their ability to lead operations and staff increases. Within Operational HR in Region North, you will have approximately 24 wonderful colleagues, 8 of whom are HR experts, and the other colleagues support our managers in recruitment. We offer the possibility of remote work agreements, which makes it possible to work a number of days per week from home by arrangement. Job Description As an HR Expert at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, you will guide our managers on matters across the entire HR field, but you will have a special focus on labor law and contract matters. The role involves working on and navigating both short-term and long-term issues as well as participating in various competency development initiatives that we hold for our managers. A large part of the work involves supporting our managers in individual cases, contract matters, disputes, etc. We are many colleagues within Operational HR North who support each other in the work, but there are also colleagues nationally who provide support, for example labor law attorneys. You will work in a developing and supportive environment where you have the opportunity to independently and together with colleagues develop our work methods for the entire Swedish Prison and Probation Service. To create learning and equality in the work, you will be part of a national network together with other experts within employer support and labor law. The work involves a few national business trips per year and travel within the region according to your and the operation's planning. We are looking for someone who has: Academic education in HR/Work Science with a focus that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service considers relevant Several years of broad experience from qualified and independent HR work in a larger organization Experience working at an operational level with labor law matters where you have supported managers in various individual cases Experience in dialogue with labor unions at various levels Very good knowledge of labor law matters Very good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish It is also meritorious to have: Experience supporting managers with contract matters Experience training managers in labor law and contract matters Experience with HR work in public administration Other Information The Swedish Prison and Probation Service has chosen to remove the cover letter and replaced it with selection questions that are relevant to the position.
