Mentors needed for 3-year project with social work in vegetable growing and gardening at Skillebyholm, Järna Would you like to combine your interest in growing and sustainable development with meaningful social work? MatLust Utvecklingsnod and the Social Services Office of Södertälje Municipality have been awarded project funding from the European Social Fund for a 3-year project aimed at people who need rehabilitative support to build strength and move toward self-sufficiency and independent living. The project offers practical work training and aims to increase individuals' opportunities for establishment in the job market within green industries. We are seeking two mentors to work practically in the project and who will be employed by the Social Services Office. As a mentor, you work closely with participants in daily activities and play an important role in creating a safe, structured, and developmental environment. Through practical work tasks, participants gain the opportunity to strengthen their work capacity, develop their skills, and take steps toward greater independence and self-sufficiency. The work is based on each participant's circumstances, needs, and goals, and employs a pedagogical, rehabilitative, and individually tailored approach. The project is directed toward people who need rehabilitative support. The target group includes, among others, people with mental health issues, harmful use or addiction, as well as people receiving livelihood support who need individually tailored support to develop their work capacity and increase their participation in society. Your Tasks The work mainly consists of planning and carrying out growing with participants on open land and in greenhouse tunnels, from plant propagation to harvest. You are responsible for leading and mentoring the practical work in the garden in close cooperation with the project manager and the facility's grower. During parts of the year, other work tasks related to the green environment are also included, such as: - Gardening and growing-related craft tasks - Construction of simple growing structures - Tool maintenance and upkeep - Facility maintenance, outdoor environment work, and simple forestry measures in cooperation with Skillebyholm staff - The role also includes cooperation with project managers, employment consultants, and other partners as well as some administration and documentation. Who Are You? Requirements: - Education and/or practical experience in organic vegetable growing on open land and in greenhouses as well as in gardening - Education and/or experience in work rehabilitation, social work, or another area that the employer deems equivalent.
