Are you an academic with a strong interest in Swedish foreign and security policy? Do you have experience working at a state agency? Are you also a skilled writer and do you thrive best in a role with many points of contact? Then this role is for you! ISP is now recruiting a case handler for placement in the Dual-Use Products (PDA) Unit. Job Description As a case handler, you work with various types of matters and permit cases related to the control of dual-use products (PDA) and international sanctions. The role is broad and involves alternating between routine matters and cases requiring deeper analytical work. You work independently on both simpler and more comprehensive written decision documents and present matters at the unit or management level. You have contact with both other agencies and companies, both nationally and internationally, and work closely with colleagues within the agency. The position also includes representing ISP externally at, for example, training sessions or meetings with other agencies or the government office. Business travel may occur. Qualifications Master's degree in political science or law degree. Current experience in case handling at a state agency or work within the Government Offices. Experience in preparing written documents and orally presenting matters. Very strong ability to express yourself both orally and in writing in both Swedish and English. Meritorious Experience with international work, for example within or against the EU, UN, or other international organizations. Experience in permit handling. Experience with export control or international sanctions issues is particularly meritorious. Knowledge of additional languages. Completed notarial service. Personal Qualities We believe you will thrive in this role if you are an analytical person who can take in and process large amounts of information and quickly familiarize yourself with new subject areas and tasks. You are self-driven, thorough, work in a structured manner, and can switch between tasks with shorter deadlines and complex investigations requiring longer timeframes. You have good collaboration skills and are communicative while maintaining high integrity. To thrive in the role, you should have a solid interest in foreign, security, and defense policy. The Unit The PDA Unit is organized into two groups – the Permit Group and the Expert Support Group. The Permit Group is responsible for all ongoing review of export permits and advance rulings. The Expert Support Group is responsible for ISP's work on international sanctions, technical investigations, and ISP's international cooperation in the export control area (shared with the Permit Group). Which group you are placed in will be determined based on your competence and experience as well as current needs in the unit. However, the unit's resources can be deployed flexibly if the caseload requires it. The colleagues in the PDA Unit are a professional group with great dedication and enormous expertise. You will quickly become part of the team and a valuable addition to the unit. About Employment at ISP The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date is by agreement. The employment includes an obligation to be placed in war deployment. To work with us, Swedish citizenship is required. The position is classified for security purposes, and a security clearance with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. Since a large part of the work tasks involve classified information, the possibility of remote work is very limited. About ISP ISP is a state agency with a security and foreign policy focus.
