As a housing adaptation specialist, you will contribute to solutions that enable people with disabilities to live more independently in their own homes. We are now recruiting a housing adaptation specialist at the Municipal Development Office for a fixed-term full-time position until December 31, 2026. DUTIES As a housing adaptation specialist, you will independently manage your cases throughout the entire handling process, from when an application is received through investigation, decision, and follow-up. The work is conducted in accordance with the Act (2018:222) on Housing Adaptation Grants and other relevant legislation and applicable case law. In this role, you will meet people with different needs and life situations. You will investigate the individual's needs and conditions for housing adaptation and assess whether the prerequisites for the grant are met. An important part of the work is to explain the handling process and communicate decisions in a clear and respectful manner. Your duties include: • receiving, reviewing, and handling applications for housing adaptation grants • independently investigating cases and making decisions according to current delegation • conducting home visits to assess the housing conditions and the applicant's needs • reviewing and evaluating certificates, quotations, and other cost documentation • collaborating and coordinating with applicants, relatives, certificate writers, property owners, and contractors • documenting the handling and ensuring cases are processed with legal security • following up on approved measures and managing cases until closure. The work is varied and involves both administrative tasks and meetings with people in their homes. You therefore need to be able to plan your workday and manage multiple cases at different stages of the handling process. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with: • completed upper secondary education • experience with administrative work relevant to the position • experience working structurally in processes or independently driving cases forward • strong ability to express yourself in Swedish both verbally and in writing • service-oriented with the ability to adapt communication to the needs of applicants • good digital competence • B-class driver's license It is meritorious if you have a relevant higher education or university degree. This could be, for example, an education with a building technology focus or education as a licensed occupational therapist or physiotherapist. Other education that the employer deems relevant for the position may also be meritorious. It is also meritorious if you have: • experience working with housing adaptation grants • experience with government authority or similar case handling • knowledge of building technical matters • experience interpreting and applying legislation • experience working in a politically governed organization. You take responsibility for your tasks, drive your cases forward, and can prioritize when multiple issues need to be handled simultaneously. Employment type: Fixed-term position.
