Guldtid offers personal companionship and social support to people who want more community and better opportunities to do things that are important or meaningful to them. Our customers can be, for example, elderly people or people living with a functional variation or the consequences of an illness. We are a complement to public healthcare and elderly care. We do not provide the same services as, for example, home care services. Our companionship providers are called Gold Friends. Each customer is matched with a Gold Friend based on needs, personality, interests, language, and availability. The goal is a safe and long-term relationship. Gold Friend for an Elderly Person in Vällingby We are now seeking a Gold Friend for an elderly person in Vällingby. Meetings take place primarily in and near the customer's home. They can include social companionship, walks, help with errands, and practical support with tidying and organizing at home. For this assignment, we are looking for a trustworthy, stable, positive, and attentive person who understands mental health issues. If you have an interest in culture, that is a great plus. The customer's daily mood and frame of mind can vary. You need to be able to maintain a calm and respectful demeanor even when the situation is challenging. It is important that you can build trust, take initiative when needed, and at the same time respect the customer's integrity, boundaries, and self-determination. You need to be patient and able to provide support and encouragement without taking over. Location: Vällingby Scope: Two hours per week Start: As soon as possible Length of assignment: Long-term Specific Requirements for This Assignment You have experience meeting people with mental health issues. You understand how mental health can affect mood, communication, and relationships. You are calm and stable and do not take changes in the customer's mood personally. You can provide practical support in a respectful and structured manner. You are able to work regularly. Meritorious Qualifications for This Assignment Experience working with elderly people. Experience in supportive or relationship-building work. Ability to create structure and help with sorting and organizing, for example, work with residential support. Nursing assistant certification or other relevant training. About Work as a Gold Friend As a Gold Friend, you meet the same customer regularly on a fixed day and time. The content of the meetings is adapted to the customer's wishes, needs, and circumstances. Customers have different needs. This can include: an elderly person who wants conversation, companionship, and someone to share their interests with, a person who needs companionship to get out of their care home, a person who, after illness or due to a functional limitation, needs support to meet friends and participate in activities and community life, a person with dementia who needs calm, security, and social presence. Meetings can include: conversation and social companionship, walks and outings, café and restaurant visits, reading aloud, music, games, or other interests, support in maintaining contact with friends and family, companionship during errands and activities, community, communication, and presence beyond words, for example through music or reading aloud. The work requires that you can adapt to the customer's daily condition and let the customer's needs guide the meeting. We are Looking for Someone Who enjoys meeting people, has great empathy, and can create security through calm, presence, and respect. You are comfortable even when the meeting is not based on regular conversation, but rather more about being present and creating a safe and meaningful moment. Can work independently and take responsibility for conducting meetings in a safe manner. General Requirements You have the capacity and desire to meet the same customer over an extended period. You can set aside the same day and time regularly. You are trustworthy, attentive, reliable, and responsible. You respect the customer's self-determination and integrity. You speak and understand Swedish well. General Merits Experience working with elderly people, Experience with dementia or mental health issues. Experience working with people with functional variations, Nursing assistant certification or other relevant training. Scope of Work Once you have completed the recruitment process and been approved, you become part of Guldtid's Gold Friends database. After that, you can be matched with one or more customers. The number of work hours depends on the customers' needs and which assignments you are matched with. Guldtid therefore cannot guarantee a certain employment level or a certain number of hours. The work is best suited as additional work or part-time employment. It can advantageously be combined with, for example, studies, another part-time job, pension, or other flexible employment. Once you are matched with a customer, you need to have the capacity and intention to meet the customer regularly over an extended period. The requirement for long-term commitment is important for the customer's security and continuity. This does not mean that Guldtid guarantees an assignment for a certain period. There may be an opportunity to later be matched with additional customers if your availability and customer needs align.
