The Västerbotten Police District is divided into three local police districts: Umeå, Southern Lapland, and Skellefteå. At the police district level, there is an investigation section and a police district office. The Umeå Local Police District is part of the Västerbotten Police District. Within the local police district, there are response and crime prevention operations, investigation teams, as well as support and service units. We are now seeking a Group Chief for Support/Service 3 in the Umeå Local Police District. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The assignment as Group Chief for Support/Service 3 As chief of Support/Service 3, you report to the chief of the Umeå Local Police District and are part of the local police district's management team, where you collectively are responsible for implementing assignments and driving the agency's change and development work. You have special responsibility for the group's activities within the support/service area and its results. As group chief, you represent the entire Police Authority both internally and externally and work to strengthen confidence in police operations. Being a manager and leader within the Police Authority means creating safety and building trust through exercising honest, courageous, and attentive leadership with confidence in others' competence and abilities. As a manager, you drive development by inspiring and encouraging reflection and feedback in a way that is based on following the law and treating people equally. You create conditions and work for good relationships that contribute to us acting together based on what is best for citizens and the assignment as a whole. As group chief for support/service 3, you have special responsibility within the internal service area related to building management, vehicles, and garage operations. The role involves personnel responsibility and work management as well as many external contacts with, among others, property owners and others. QUALIFICATIONS This is an opportunity for you who have: • at least 6 months of continuous experience working as a manager with employer responsibility, which includes personnel, work environment, and work management responsibility • experience participating in change and development work • experience in the relevant field of operations, that is, within service operations or police operations • relevant education/training for the function • Driver's License B We consider it meritorious if you additionally have: • experience leading others toward set goals and results • participation in management forums • experience working in police organization operations • management and leadership training at direct, indirect, and/or strategic levels • experience participating in/driving collaboration with community actors outside the police organization/your own organization • experience working as a manager or similar, which the employer considers relevant, within public sector operations • experience leading or working within internal service or similar operations, which the employer considers relevant When we hire, we will place great emphasis on personal qualities and leadership abilities.
