Pilträdsskolan is an independent school with approximately 325 students that emphasizes knowledge, safety, and the unique value of each student. The school was founded in 1994 and provides instruction in grades F-9 as well as after-school activities. Attached to the school is Pilträdets preschool for children ages 1-5. The school is governed by Stiftelsen Källan in Västerås and is located in Vallby. We are now seeking an inspiring teacher for the lower elementary level who wants to shape the future together with us and contribute to meaningful schooling experiences. This is a temporary position because one of our teachers will be on parental leave for one year. We require that you have a university degree in elementary education (lower elementary F-3 / grades 1-7, or teaching for younger ages) and experience working in primary education. Teaching certification is a requirement. We also expect you to be familiar with the curriculum, course plans, the Swedish National Agency for Education guidelines, and primary school operations. You are responsible, independent, take initiative, and work well with others. As a teacher with us, you will collaborate, plan, and evaluate instruction in consultation with colleagues and students. You are skilled at and interested in continuously developing leadership, stimulation, and personalized adaptations in your teaching. Your responsibilities also include mentoring and communicating with guardians. You have strong computer skills. You have a genuine interest in working with student development and learning, see possibilities, are flexible, are willing to try new approaches, and are experienced in collaboration.
