The World Heritage city of Karlskrona is characterized by its maritime history with a constantly present sense of the sea and archipelago, and ongoing naval operations continue to this day. Today we preserve that world heritage, but we are also building for the future. In Vision Karlskrona 2030, which is based on sustainability, there are five areas we are working more actively with in the coming years; attractive living environment, fast communications, education/knowledge, Karlskroka of experiences, and Karlskroka of business.
The Environment and Urban Development Administration works to develop a sustainable and growing Karlskrona with new housing and business establishments and well-functioning activities from an environmental and health perspective. The administration consists of an administrative manager, staff, environmental department, planning department, and building permit department.
Today, four GIS engineers and one GIS technician work in the planning department together with a planning manager and planning architects. The planning department focuses on the municipality's efforts for a more efficient urban development process and digitalization of the administration's operations, such as digital detailed and comprehensive plans, digital maps, 3D models, geographical analyses, visualizations, and digital services. The GIS team is also responsible for administration, development, and management of large parts of the municipality's GIS platform.

WORK TASKS
In your role as a GIS Engineer, you work, both independently and in collaboration, with developing GIS, digital map services, web applications, and visualizations while participating in current projects within urban development. You also share responsibility for administering, managing, and developing the municipality's enterprise GIS platform, geodatabases, and Geosecma business modules together with other colleagues in the GIS team, IT technicians, and suppliers. Service and consulting internally and externally, as well as collaboration with other administrations, municipal companies, and authorities are important parts of the work. You are expected to want to develop yourself and be part of developing the operations and urban development process.
QUALIFICATIONS
- have strong commitment and ability to take own initiatives and independently drive activities, projects, and assignments
- are service-oriented and have good ability to collaborate with other operational areas and colleagues with other competencies in cross-administration projects
- have good knowledge of and documented experience in administering, developing, and managing systems, map services, and web applications in Esri's ArcGIS Enterprise platform
- have good knowledge of and documented experience in administering and using Geosecma (Gaida) for ArcGIS
- have good knowledge of FME Form and FME Flow
- have good knowledge and experience in managing and structuring geographical data in databases, for example SQL server
- have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English
- are interested in developing the digital urban development process with the help of GIS and physical planning
- have a B driver's license
It is meriting if you have experience with:
- 3D tools, such as SketchUp, ArcGIS Urban, City Engine, BIM tools, or similar
- AR, VR
- Adobe Creative Cloud
